Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Reber.
Hi Taylor, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been coaching in the health and fitness space since 2012 and I always knew I’d own my own gym one day. October 2020 that dream came to fruition at the tail end of COVID when I think everyone was really looking to get back into the gym and out of isolation. So from the moment we opened we took off and we haven’t looked back since. In the last five years we have grown a community of individuals who feel more like family than gym members and that has been the most rewarding part of owning Einhorn. My husband and I run this gym alongside our three crazy daughters so it’s certainly a family business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh goodness no haha. We have certainly had our ups and downs and learned some hard but very necessary lessons in our five years of business. We have adopted the mindset that mistakes are where we grow the most and so we always try to view them as positive opportunities. Every book I’ve ever read or podcast I’ve listened to said that if you can make it through the five year mark – you’re solid haha. We have cleared that five year mark and have finally found our groove and made the changes we needed to make in order to best align ourselves with your vision for the future of our gym.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’d say when we first opened we were known as the competitive gym because we were housing a lot of elite level athletes in our first few years. But over the last two years we have learned that if we’re going to be the “from cradle to grave” gym then we need to adjust our approach to fitness and make it more inclusive to all ages and stages of life.
I can proudly say now that we are that family oriented gym now. We have couples with little kids, pregnant moms, grandmothers, grandfathers and young athletes all working out under the same roof. We strive to offer a little something for everyone because we believe that movement is a gift and no matter what level of fitness you have or stage of life you’re at, we all need to be moving our bodies.
I’m proud of our ability to maintain a strong sense of community as we’ve grown in the last five years. No matter how big a class is, we can all still be silly and have fun and have genuine conversations and make our members feel valued. That is absolutely the best gift that our staff gives to our community is that genuine care and connection.
What are your plans for the future?
Our plan for the future is to continue to grow and reach as much of our surrounding community as possible. We feel that our program provides everything someone would need to optimize their health and fitness. Einhorn is more than a gym, we’re a group of individuals who enjoy the gift of movement and love our community members whole heartedly. We plan to continue to add more training programs and class times to our schedule to accommodate more members and we even have some fun expansion projects in the works – stay tuned :p
