Today we’d like to introduce you to Tmk South.
Hi Tmk South, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was little my dad sold drugs and ended up going to prison and I was left trying to take care of my little brother because my mom was never around then I ended up moving with my grandparents who raised me but I was deep in the streets fighting, selling dope, in a gang going in and out of jail until I was around 21 and started doing music, ended up working with Lil Flip a lot then he signed me to his label and I started to get bigger and bigger features with artists until I got to where I’m at today with almost 50k monthly listeners on Spotify alone and hundreds of thousands of streams this year.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was rough, being in a gang since I was 11, being in and out of jail, not having a father or mom in my life until I was way older
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do music, I am a rapper that has a solid fan base that continues to grow fast. I am most proud that I’m just being me nothing about my music is a gimmick.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I would say people need to know it takes a lot of sacrifice and dedication to get where you want to be no matter what your doing. There’s days where I spent my last on a verse and went hungry.
