What started as a simple idea to bring smiles to people’s events has grown into one of Central Texas’s most trusted and loved photo experiences — FyrePix Photos.
Back in the beginning, I didn’t have the luxury of a full setup or a fancy studio. I had passion, creativity, and a small booth I’d piece together event by event. But every photo I took, every laugh I captured, and every guest who walked away smiling reminded me why I started: to make moments unforgettable.
At first, I was just trying to create a fun side experience for local parties. I didn’t realize that spark of creativity would soon become a full-fledged business. Over time, FyrePix Photos evolved from a single photo booth into a professional event-photography and photo-booth company offering 360 experiences, roaming photography, DSLR print booths, and custom branded overlays — all designed to match every client’s vision.
What truly set FyrePix apart wasn’t just the equipment — it was the experience. From our first events to our hundredth, we’ve stayed true to what matters most: exceptional service, high-quality production, and authentic connection.
Today, FyrePix Photos is a licensed, insured, and fully mobile brand serving weddings, festivals, and corporate events across Austin, Kyle, Buda, San Marcos, San Antonio, and all of Central Texas. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not — but every bump in the road helped shape FyrePix Photos into what it is today.
Like many small business owners, I started with limited equipment, no investors, and zero idea how quickly the photo booth industry could get saturated. I learned fast that you’re not just competing with other professional companies — you’re competing with side hustlers who undercut pricing and sometimes don’t even carry insurance or contracts. It forced me to stand firm on value instead of chasing cheap trends.
There were times when bookings were slow, when events fell through last minute, or when I was loading and unloading gear by myself at midnight just to be ready for the next morning. I’ve had equipment crash minutes before showtime and software updates hit at the worst possible moments. But through all of it, I adapted — I learned, upgraded, and stayed committed to excellence.
Balancing my healthcare career and building a business from the ground up wasn’t easy either. It meant long nights, early mornings, and countless weekends spent editing, designing, or troubleshooting tech instead of resting. But passion always outweighed exhaustion.
Every challenge — from figuring out Wi-Fi issues on-site to designing overlays at 2 a.m. — taught me something. And those lessons built the structure, professionalism, and reliability that FyrePix Photos is known for today.
Because the truth is: smooth roads don’t make strong businesses. The struggles did — and that’s why every event, every client, and every smile means so much more now.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
As an original Austinite, I’ve had the privilege of watching this city grow from a laid-back, keep-it-weird town into a vibrant hub for creators, innovators, and dreamers. What I love most about Austin is its spirit — it celebrates authenticity. It’s a city that welcomes originality, values local business, and thrives on collaboration.
Whether I’m setting up a booth downtown, capturing smiles in Kyle, or running a festival in San Marcos, that same energy follows me everywhere — warm people, great music, and a community that truly supports small business owners like me. Austin’s creativity fuels FyrePix, and that same energy is woven into every photo we capture.
Now, if we’re being honest… the traffic is definitely not my favorite part! (Anyone who’s ever driven from Kyle to North Austin during rush hour knows exactly what I mean.) But even with the congestion, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This city raised my creativity, sharpened my resilience, and gave me the inspiration to build something lasting.
Austin — and all of Central Texas — is where FyrePix was born, built, and continues to grow. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.
