Meet Abigail Miller of June’s Brow Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abigail Miller.

Hi Abigail, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The way I got into this industry was so random…. had you asked me two years ago if I would own a business and tattoo people’s faces I would laugh! I graduated Texas State with a public Relations degree and a communication studies minor. My dream at the time was to do Public Relations for a big beauty company. After graduating I quickly realized I did not want to be a part of the corporate world. If I am being totally honest, I don’t do well with people telling me what to do, so I knew I had to figure something out. Instead of researching careers, I got a huge tattoo, as one does when they are having a crisis. My artist told me about his girlfriend getting certified in microblading and it intrigued me. So, I went out and Tok a course… it was three days long and my Mom was my first subject. I saw the way brows changed her face and the way she carried herself it was also one of the hardest things I have ever done and I wanted to master it. So, a combination of making someone feel their best and being a perfectionist is how I got here. I guess the coolest part of it all is that I do Public Relations for my OWN beauty company.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has been anything but smooth… no later than three months of me working my studio flooded… then five months later we were in a pandemic. AND STILL ARE. Dealing with Covid has majorly impacted my business. I have had shipments of supplies run late due to USPS being backed up and had to cancel clients, I have had clients get sick and cancel the day of costing money and time, I have gotten COVID myself. All of these things have caused conflicts with scheduling and keeping my clients happy. I have no business background… so running a business while the world is basically burning down is pretty difficult. As my success has grown I am now dealing with other women in the industry bashing my name or putting me down. That’s what the hardest part is… I came into this business at 22 years old and looked up to a lot of these women who were older than me and had tons of experience yet those women were the first to speak poorly of me. It’s very unfortunate but all I can do is keep doing my best. I keep people like this in my prayers… I know when people are nasty and mean they must have something going on in their personal lives that we can’t see. Luckily there are an amazing group of women in Austin that support me like no other. That’s what this is all about, community over competition, and I will always strive to build up my fellow entrepreneur!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a permanent makeup artist in Austin, Texas! I specialize in Powder Brows, which is a filled in look for your brows… bye bye makeup! I am known for my powder brows, my connection that I have with my clients and my realness. I feel that I am a bit different than people in the beauty industry. Often people act very polished and bubbly.. I am raw and real with all of my clients and followers. This has helped me develop a very personal and close relationship with my clients and followers. I show days I am crying and I show days I’m happy, I get endless support. I consider myself very lucky to have the support system I have. I would say that’s what I am most proud of brand wise. I pride myself on making people feel good about themselves or just feeling good in general. On my IG I constantly try to create funny and uplifting content for my followers and when I have a client in my studio I treat her like my best friend. Its honestly the best feeling in the world. What I want readers to know about June’s Brow Co. is that anyone and everyone is welcome. This is a place to feel loved, confident and empowered. I am here to make you look and feel your best… and I won’t stop till I do. I hope everyone becomes a part of the June Bug family one day!
