Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Bennett.
Hi Angela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have over 20 years of professional experience working as an actress. I have worked in Film, Television, Commercials, and Theater in Texas and Los Angeles. I have also worked as a Writer, Director and Producer.
In 2015, I retired from Acting and I started teaching the craft of acting to Kids, Teens, and Adults. With my experience and knowledge in the industry, I found that soon my Students were asking questions to help guide their careers, as well as train their craft.
In 2016, I retired from Teaching, and after much request, I founded Bennett Connection Talent Agency and started representing a small roster of talented actors and worked in the capacity as their Agent/Manager. My years of experience and industry relationships have allowed me to easily work closely with Producers and Casting Directors. Through our relationships, I have been able to successfully secure audition opportunities and Bookings for our Actors.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Over the years, I have worn many hats in the Entertainment Industry. I starting with Acting, then from there I moved on to Writing, Directing, Producing and Coaching Actors. Once I founded Bennett Connection, I had to hang up all of my hats to dedicate 100% of my focus on growing and maintaining my business. I struggled with transitioning from my other industry jobs to a full-time Talent Agent.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m the Founder and Agent for Bennett Connection Talent Agency. We represent union and non-union actors for Film, Television, Commercials, Industrials, Print and Voice Over.
Bennett Connection is a Boutique Talent Agency offering hands on representation focused on career development. We help actors achieve their goals by formulating a career plan that is unique to each actor keeping them on a path toward success.
I am most proud of the amount of success that Bennett Connection has achieved and the hard work and dedication from our Actors.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My Business Partner Tika Cook has been there from the beginning and plays a big role in the decision-making process and assist with the day to day operations. I’m excited to announce that Tika has recently taken on the role of Talent Agent with Bennett Connection.
Several local Casting Directors have also played a big role in the success of my business. During my years in the industry, we have developed great working relationships. When I founded my business, they provided me with support and recommendations that helped me take my business to the next level.
