Today we’d like to introduce you to Ann Pozos
Hi Ann, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I had very different plans once I graduated college of what my future would look like. Owning my own business was always a dream but I never really thought I would ever be capable of making it happen, let alone making it last. I’ve always loved art and beauty. Until one day in 2018, my sister in law mentioned to me about a Microblading training program and that I should look into it. I went back and forth with the idea of it for many months before deciding to just go for it. I used all of my tax return money and some help from my boyfriend to sign up for this course and instantly fell in love with it. I had no idea that in that moment, I would start my own business I’ve always wanted. My mom allowed me to use her guest room to start working out of as a side hustle as I still worked my 9-5pm. Within a year of taking clients, I decided that I wanted to go all in and put my 2 week notice at my job. Yes, I cried every day after my last day because I was so scared of the unknown. I failed more times in this phase of my life than ever before and I thought I was crazy to think I could make this a career. But here we are almost 6 years later still going!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business and working in the beauty industry was definitely not easy. Still to this day it is not easy. There has been numerous times where I wanted to just quit and go back to applying for a job. But I couldn’t just throw away all the time, money, sweat and tears I put into myself and the business I had created. I truly think that without a supportive partner by my side I would have easily quit when things got hard. Aside from my craft, I had to learn to deal with not only the business side but also understanding the customer service aspect with grace and patience. It’s a continuous process of learning and achieving each goal and obstacle that comes along but yet I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

My boyfriend and my parents have played the biggest role for my success in business. They are my biggest cheerleaders and who gives me the confidence and motivation to keep going. Now that I am a mother, my daughter has become the reason I will not give up and only continue to reach for more.
