Meet Asha Oya of Law of Asha

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asha Oya.

Hi Asha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started Oya Visions in 2021 after making jewelry for over ten years. I began making jewelry in college because I wanted something that wasn’t easily available and that was different than the styles I saw online: waist beads. At the time, I was attending the University of Iowa and the lovely women at the only bead shop in town took me under their wing. I learned so much from them about jewelry-making that it inspired me to take a jewelry & metal-working class at the university. That class was just the next step of opening my mind to the idea that I could make anything I set my mind to.

After college, and until a few years ago, I made jewelry on and off but had largely lost my inspiration until the pandemic hit. I quit my job and traveled the world as a nomad. I released myself from a 9-to-5 cycle and set out to discover myself. This journey reunited me with my love of making jewelry from a brand new vantage point. Jewelry is not just something beautiful that you wear. Jewelry holds an energy and I decide what energy it holds. I began to make one-of-a-kind pieces infused with different energies that resonated with people on a whole new level.

Oya Visions reflects my visions in each and every piece I make. They are one-of-a-kind and made with the same divine energy that inspired them. This is high-vibrational jewelry that beckons its owner to step forward. When the owner of a piece picks it up or spots it across the room, I see this light shine within them, this realization of something that is in resonance with the core of their being!

I work with energy in nearly all its forms whether it is written, spoken, through touch, or through the creation of physical objects. Often all of these mediums blend to create something even more special. For instance, two necklaces called “Pearlescent” and “Petite Fille”, both now sold, inspired poems! I create each piece of jewelry like it is a work of precious art.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oya Visions’ role has been a struggle. It’s something that I’ve had to deal with and finally feel that I understand the role of Oya Visions in my life. I am a polymath. I have many hats and my life is enriched and balanced by all of them. Whenever I try to take one and make it my sole purpose, everything crumbles. I have gone through this so many times. Oya Visions is not my only purpose but it is critical to my creative expression.

I have also struggled with confidence. For a long time, I thought it was a business issue why I had trouble starting an online store or finding customers. It wasn’t that. I didn’t believe in myself and that reflected in my jewelry and in how I presented myself. I compared myself to other creators who were more successful and that just reinforced my belief that I wasn’t good enough. It took nearly eight years for me to build confidence in myself and that’s when I began to believe in what I created.

Oya Visions isn’t a traditional business. I do it for love. For a long time, I wanted to do it for money or recognition and I didn’t enjoy it then. When I tried to apply the business approach of most, it felt like work and I wasn’t inspired. I had a realization one day that I would make jewelry whether anyone bought it or not. I love it. It makes me sing to see a vision in my mind and then manifest it into physical reality. That is why I do it. The customers that I attract can feel that energy and appreciate my art. So I don’t advertise or have an online website or go to many markets, but my customers find me and it makes for some of the best stories!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run a business called Law of Asha. Law of Asha began as a life coaching company. The Law of Attraction teachings changed my life and is the reason why I am able to live the abundant life that I am currently living. I share practical and inspirational content on my YouTube channel and offer life coaching services. What makes me unique is that I live everything I teach. My entire life is an experiment and I enjoy exploring new ways of living so as to improve and enrich my life. These adventures in self-development allow me to serve my clients because I can speak from personal experience instead of regurgitating information. I love when my clients tell me weeks or months later that I helped them manifest something in their life that they had struggled to do on their own.

Last year, I added a Business Services branch to Law of Asha offering virtual personal & professional assistant services. This was birth out of a synchronicity that I could not ignore and I knew that I had attracted this opportunity at a soul-level. My approach to this work is different in that I combine the roles of the personal assistant and the virtual assistant. I work with people I believe in and believe that their work is benefiting the world. These are the people who really need our help because they notoriouslly overwork themselves and have to be taught how to delegate. I help them shift from the role of a task-master to a leader. I use my Law of Attraction practices in my work to manifest success for myself and my clients. I love being a catalyst and component of someone else’s growth and seeing the positive effects ripple out.
