Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky Tamez.
Hi Becky, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always believed that the best business growth for a lot of industries, doesn’t come from ads or cold outreach, it comes from people. Connecting and building real relationships.
I’ve watched business owners spend hours networking…going to events, meeting great people, and then struggle to keep up with all the follow-ups and connections afterward. They’d have stacks of business cards, no real system for tracking who they met, and no way to measure if all that networking was actually turning into business.
That’s what inspired me to create Dashboard Local’s Networking CRM.
I wanted to build something that made networking measurable and manageable. A system that helps you capture contacts right from a digital business card, automatically follow up after events, and actually see where your referrals and revenue are coming from, whether that’s through a group, a partner, or a meeting.
So, Dashboard Local has become more than a CRM, it’s a tool for people who grow their business through relationships. It’s built for networkers, referral-based teams, and anyone who wants to spend less time chasing leads and more time building the kind of connections that actually move their business forward.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road, but I don’t think it’s supposed to be.
When I started building Dashboard Local, the biggest challenge wasn’t creating the automation behind the software, it was helping people change how they think about networking. Most business owners are amazing at what they do, but when it comes to tracking relationships and follow-ups, they rely on memory, sticky notes, or spreadsheets. So getting them to see that networking could be streamlined, automated, and actually measurable took time.
Another challenge was building a system that felt personal, not robotic. Networking is about relationships, not transactions so the automation had to feel natural, conversational, and human. That took a lot of trial, error, and listening to what users really needed.
And of course, like most entrepreneurs, there were plenty of long nights figuring things out…balancing development, marketing, and customer support while still building relationships myself. But honestly, those struggles shaped what Dashboard Local is today. Every challenge pushed me to make it simpler, smarter, and more aligned with how real business networking actually works.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Dashboard Local?
Dashboard Local helps professionals grow their business through relationships, not ads.
We specialize in what I call networking automation. It’s everything you need to capture, track, and convert leads from the people you meet, whether that’s at a networking event, a coffee meeting, or through a referral. Our system includes a CRM built specifically for networkers, digital business cards that automatically trigger follow-ups, and dashboards that show exactly where your referrals and revenue are coming from.
What really sets us apart is that we understand how real-world networking works. Most CRMs are built for cold leads and online funnels, not for the kind of relationship-based business that happens through introductions and word-of-mouth. Dashboard Local bridges that gap. It helps you stay connected with your network without feeling like you’re managing another full-time job.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that we’ve built something that actually feels human. Everything about Dashboard Local, from the automations to the follow-ups, is designed to sound like you, not a robot. It’s about building genuine relationships while still having a system that works behind the scenes.
What I want people to know is that if your business grows through relationships, referrals, and networking, this is the system built for you. You don’t need to spend hours following up or wonder which connections are paying off. Dashboard Local gives you a simple, smart way to manage your network and turn it into measurable business growth.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’ve always been a people person. Growing up, I loved meeting new people, hearing their stories…it’s just always come naturally to me. I’ve never been shy about starting conversations or walking up to someone new at an event.
Networking has always felt more like second nature than strategy. Even before I knew what “networking” was, I was that person introducing friends to each other because I just knew they’d hit it off or could help each other somehow. That love for connection never really went away…it just evolved into how I run my business today.
That’s why Dashboard Local is built the way it is. It’s designed for people who genuinely enjoy building relationships but want an easier way to stay organized and follow up. I know firsthand that networking can open doors you never expect and I wanted to create something that helps people keep those doors open without feeling overwhelmed by all the manual labor of following up.
