Hi Brandi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started in the property tax industry at 18, working admin for a large firm in Houston. I quickly became fascinated with the tax code and the strategy behind it. I watched the consultants come in during the busy season, work hard, and enjoy real success—and I thought, I can do that. So I earned my real estate license and property tax consultant license, and later went on to work as an agent for another large firm.
After gaining hands-on experience and building my expertise, I partnered with a colleague to launch Platinum Property Tax. Since then, I’ve earned my broker’s license and senior property tax consultant license. Today, I run a thriving business and travel across Texas educating homeowners and real estate agents on the benefits and process of protesting property taxes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The property tax industry is constantly evolving—legislation changes, processes shift, and staying on top of it all takes consistent effort. On top of that, owning and operating a business is a rollercoaster. When you build something from the ground up, you wear all the hats—marketing, IT, bookkeeping, admin—you name it. Navigating those roles while trying to grow can be overwhelming at times, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. Every challenge has helped shape me into a better business owner and consultant.

Platinum Property Tax is a boutique firm specializing in residential property tax protests across Texas. Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I definitely believe in doing my homework—I’m all about a good pros and cons list and taking time to analyze before making any major decision. But at the end of the day, you have to jump in order to fly. I’ve learned that calculated risk is essential to growth, both personally and professionally.
