Hi Chelsea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I moved to Liberty Hill in 2006, met my now husband in 2008 in high school, and graduated in 2009 from Liberty Hill High School. We had our first child in 2012, and I was a stay-at-home mom of 3 boys for 7 years. Once they were old enough and the youngest was 2, I got a job working with a friend who owns a successful diesel mechanic shop in Liberty Hill. I had a weird thing in high school: when I wore mascara (before lash extensions), I would use tweezers and separate every lash until they were perfectly straight. When I was working at the mechanic shop, I had a few friends who did lashes, and I would get them done by then. It didn’t take me only a short time to sign up to get my license to do lash extensions. Balancing school, 3 kids, and home life was difficult, but eventually, I got it done. Right after, I knew I only wanted to work for myself in my salon, so I did that. Immediately upon graduating, my husband and I started saving money to remodel a small building here in Liberty Hill, now known as Liberty Hill Beauty Bar. We have been open for 2 years now. I now have 3 employees—1 hair stylist and esthetician.
Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has only sometimes been a smooth road. Some months are more arduous than others because that’s how the beauty industry works. Building a clientele that will keep coming back takes time. Balancing a business, 3 kids, a deployed husband sometimes, and life, in general, is very tough, and sometimes you want to throw the towel in, but taking a step back and looking at the big picture makes it so worth it.

I want people to know that we are very inviting and talkative. Each of us ladies comes from a different background and has a different story. We have distinct personalities and traits, but working together, we all come together and enjoy working together in the salon. Liberty Hill Beauty Bar is known for lash extensions and spray tanning! We specialize in those two and do so many other things! Aside from lashes and spray tanning, we also do waxing, lash lifts and tints, eyebrow laminations, eyebrow tints, microshading of the eyebrows, and all hair services (cuts, color, extensions, blowouts, men’s cuts)! Liberty Hill is such a unique town to my husband and I. We met, got married, and are raising our kids here. I love to see old faces, but when I have a new client who just moved to the area, it gives me a chance to connect with them and share my knowledge of the history of this town.
