Hi Cherelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Drawing influence from the vibrant sounds and styles of the 90s hip-hop era, Cherelle K. infuses her music with a unique blend of rap, R&B, and soul. With notable projects like her debut single and music video “Last Name Kozak,” along with recent singles such as “Comin back” and “Bunny”. Cherelle K. is poised to make a significant impact on the music scene.
Graduating college at the young age of 22, Cherelle K. earned a Bachelors degree in mass communications with a concentration in electronic media. After completing her studies, she made the bold move to Texas, where she continues to nurture her artistic endeavors. Cherelle K. embodies the spirit of determination and resilience, epitomizing the belief that “if there is a will, there is a way.” Cherelle k is also the owner of “Kozylipz” a hand made lip balm line.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. it still isnt. It is so hard to figure out the right steps everyday to reach my goal. I sometimes wish i could call Missy elliot, lil kim, or nicki minaj to just ask if i made the right decision with booking this gig or doing that interview. But, i let God lead me and with that, I know i will have the strength to figure everything out.

Cherelle K, a rising talent from Louisiana that’s currently set up in austin Texas. with her unique blend of hip hop and R&B. At just 25 years old, Cherelle is making her path in the music industry with her smooth, unvarnished style and unique blend of hip hop and R&B. Cherelle’s journey into music began with a passion that she always carried with her from a little girl. She said it was something that she was always meant to do, but first had to figure out where she fit in. Once she started exploring rapping, she knew that is exactly where she belonged. Like most artists, Cherelle faced challenges on her journey. She is trying to navigate the right steps that will help her reach her goals. In the music industry there are no rules and every artist’s journey is going to look different and that’s okay.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
i am very very much a home body. if it isnt for a music or work event, i like to just stay home and watch movies. i am currently a director for cbs austin. i direct the 4:30-7am news and the 9-10am we are austin life style show. a long term dream and goal of mine is to transition into directoring films
