Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Cortinas
Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been DJing for over 24 years now and always have been heavily involved in the Austin, Texas electronic music scene. From performing at countless underground rave parties all over Texas, night clubs, sports bars and being the helping hand in throwing events, I’ve always had my hand in the scene somehow. After starting a family in 2021 I began to move away from clubs and dive more into learning how to run a business. As a growing entrepreneur, It wasn’t until late 2023 where I would begin to build and form an entertainment business called Austin Pix N’ Party.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In every growing business there are always going to be growing pains, set backs, expenses, huge risks and little reward in some cases. The main driver is to roll with the punches. If you let every single obstacle get in your way, you will never learn and adapt to the many changes that come with being a new business.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I built Austin Pix N’ Party with the intention to bring the best services to every event possible. We offer DJ entertainment, photo booth and photography experiences for all type of events. Wether it’s a wedding, quinceanera, anniversary, prom or corporate event, we strive to enhance the user experience to create long lasting memories. When it comes to DJ technology I’m always at the forefront of what’s new and what I can bring to my clients. The same goes for our photo booths. Utilizing the best technology and software available we have been able to create a brand that is known for pure quality. If there’s one thing I’m proud of it’s how much we have been able to accomplish in just under a year. Within the time we have been established we have serviced over 120+ events and have gained recognition with some of the best businesses, venues in the Austin Texas hill country and some major corporate accounts. Most notably Onnit Gym, The Dance Project, Little Woodrows, Tik Tok, and we are aiming for more in 2025.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Find someone who knows the business and has gone through everything you have as a growing business. Don’t think of other brands and businesses as competition. Instead think of them as connections and networks you can use to scale your business.
