Meet Christopher Grundmann of G2 Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Grundmann.

Hi Christopher, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My wife, Dr. Latesa Guerra, and I dreamed of opening our business all the way back in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2017. We met each other in chiropractic school at the National University of Health Sciences Florida campus, and our journey together has flourished since. After we graduated, we decided to move back to Dr. Guerra’s home state of Texas. We worked for other chiropractors as long as we could, but after a few years, we quickly realized it was time to take the leap into entrepreneurship. We were driven by a desire to provide better care for our patients, spend more time together as a family, and avoid continuing to wear ourselves down to build someone else’s business.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening G2 has been challenging, for sure. We did not take a small business loan to get started and we both essentially left our old jobs without a lot of savings built up. We really did dive in headfirst without a safety net. Fortunately, we have an amazing support system of family, friends, and patients who have been there for us every step of the way. The biggest challenge has been finding the time to be business owners and doctors simultaneously – some people refer to this as “owning your own job.” We can no longer focus on just being the best chiropractors for our patients; the success of the business also relies on us to market, advertise, bookkeep, manage payroll, manage contractors, etc. Every day we learn something new, struggle in a different way, and find ways to adapt.

We’ve been impressed with G2 Chiropractic, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
G2 Chiropractic is dedicated to helping people, and we have a lot of fun doing it! Sometimes that means we provide the care, sometimes, that means an appropriate referral. Regardless, treatment is always personalized – tailored to the individual. If you are used to going to the chiropractor and getting the same exact treatment every time, that is not us! Your body adapts and changes all the time – so should your care!

We provide chiropractic, acupuncture, manual therapy and massage therapy services. You may see some cupping, dry needling, kinesiology taping, or a wide range of other treatment modalities.

At G2, we believe proper diet, daily movement, education, and empowerment are essential to recovery. My personal focus is on sports and family chiropractic, but I am also a biochemistry nerd who will chat with you on inflammation pathways and natural medicines all day. Dr. Guerra specializes in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care and is also certified in acupuncture. Our most recent addition, Dr. Aguilar, is a diplomate in chiropractic neurology (DACNB) and is very well-versed in instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM).

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
The most useful app I can boost is the Prehab app from The Prehab Guys, also spelled [P]rehab.

My favorite read for most of my patients is the DeFlame Diet by Dr. David Seaman.

Favorite podcast for me personally is The Health Hustle podcast by Corey Hiben.
