Meet Cristal Garcia Marin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristal Garcia Marin.

Hi Cristal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! Thank You so much for having me here, and I am so happy and blessed that I get to have this opportunity to speak to the world! First off, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Cristal Garcia Marin, I am 26 years old and from Durango Mexico, raised in Austin Tx since I was 3 years old, I am a wife and mother of 3, 1 boy who is almost a teenager 🙂 and 2 little girls. I was always that girl who wanted to stand out from everyone, since I was a little girl I always loved to be different and look different from everyone else! I loved to color my hair, stylish clothing, weird earrings and shoes, to write music, God!! I remember when I first recorded my very first song in a studio haha I just really loved doing new things.
I wanted to be that girl to bring life into others! And for a while, I was being bullied because of the things I would wear or just simply because of my weight and as I grew up, I was always torn down by hate and judgment, I had always put others’ feelings first before me so for a while I had stopped being myself. as I got into my teenage years, I had become so depressed that it was consuming me and affecting my behavior and my family. I became pregnant at just 15 years old, my life was about to change forever. I was just a kid about to have a kid !! I was a single mother with only the help of my mom and dad. My life had changed drastically and on top of the depression I was going through I felt so alone and full of anger and sadness I did not know how to move forward. When my son was born on Christmas eve day of 2010, I knew from there life was going to be a challenge but I knew I had to overcome my own fears and demons for him and myself. I always loved to paint and draw since I was just a little girl. My dad taught me how to draw dramatic stylish hearts when I was 10! 🙂 after my son, I realized that my escape from my depression and all the worries I had was from drawing and painting! It had become a habit to me, it was my way to be free and to express my feelings. There are even a couple of drawings that a local Business bought from me back in 2014! How cool was that! For someone to admire my work and wanting to buy it from me! Soon after a couple of years that I had my 2nd child and married my high school sweetheart. 🙂  I realized that I wanted to just add the cherry on top and start my artwork on Digital. I begin to sell custom cartoon logos for local businesses in Austin and one of the very first ones I did when I started was for Ashley Treats N Eats! When I started the digital art is what started getting my name more out there. 🙂

It was not just about the logos in my free time I would grab my tablet and work on whatever came into my mind! It was not until 2020 that I wanted to start learning photography but I did not want to be just any photographer I wanted to be an ARTIST, I wanted to join my creativity from paintings and drawings into photography, fairytale Photography is what I love to do! Meaning I love to work with photoshop and create something different and magical ✨️ but my goal with my Art and Photography is for everyone to realize that behind my camera they are free to be who they really want to be! For everyone to not be afraid of judgment, I want to be that person to inspire people to go for everything you want and dream of! If you want to do something new tomorrow then go for it and don’t look back! You never know how it will go until you try and when life knocks you down you get back up and you try again. I started focusing on myself more, self-healing and peace and my look! I have always loved to change my look 🙂 what I love about me is my tattoos because they are what make me complete, my tattoos are what define who I am, I consider my body a work of art, my tattoo artist once said when I die, they need to freeze my arms put them in a jar and put them in an Art museum, haha.

Soon everyone started recognizing my name, Garcia Art, not just for my Artwork and photography but because the meaning behind every work I do and my clients’ experiences with me, is very important for me to make sure that all my clients have a wonderful session, a fun and beautiful photo session as well as satisfy their needs with the digital Art work they seek from me.

I am here to tell the world to be yourselves! The world is always going to talk about you regardless if you’re doing good or bad! So be YOUR OWN PERSON, UNIQUE, AND DIFFERENT. Don’t be afraid of failure because there will be failure but if you keep getting up and believe in yourself, there will be more wins behind that door you’re waiting to go through. We all got this! We are all here to win!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest challenge for me is mentally I am my biggest critic, I sometimes am too hard on myself, I expect perfection but I am still learning that nothing will always be exactly perfect.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Digital Artist, Graphic Designer, and Photographer.

I Specialize in cartoon drawings that are digital, Logos, Animated Logos, Flyers, business cards.

With my photography, I Specialize in Fairytale Photography, photoshop photography, family, children, graduation, maternity, and Special Events.

I am known for my creative drawings and cartoon logos, and my photoshop photography and let’s not forget the tattoos. 😉

I am most proud of the person I have become today, for not giving up on myself and my dream. But of course, I would not be here if it wasn’t for all the support people give me, they are my motivation!

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice to others is to just have fun with what you do 🙂 Put all your creative thoughts into your painting, drawings or photographs. Be yourself!
Learn your camera settings, and watch a lot of YouTube, I never had a mentor but I wish to be a mentor one day for people who are starting out. 🙂
