Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Ramirez.
Hi Cynthia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story really began during a season of starting over. After going through a difficult divorce, I became the sole provider for my four children. It was a time that tested me in every way, financially, emotionally, and personally, but it also gave me the push to reimagine what was possible for my life.
When I first saw the idea of a charcuterie bar, I immediately thought, I can do that. Instead of easing into it slowly, I went all in. That leap became The Sacred Flame Charcuterie Bar, a mobile bar business that now serves weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings. My Mexican heritage has always taught me the importance of food, family, and celebration, and I bring that spirit into everything I create. From the ingredients I choose to the way I design my boards, it is about more than food, it is about connection and honoring tradition in a modern way.
Alongside growing the charcuterie business, I am also working on launching a podcast. My goal is to create a space where women can share honest stories about resilience, healing, and building new chapters for themselves. It is inspired by my own journey, but also by the incredible women around me, especially women of color, who have faced challenges and still found a way to rise.
Where I am today is the result of grit, faith, culture, and a lot of late nights, but I am proud of how far I have come. More than anything, I hope my journey shows other women that even when life feels like it is falling apart, it is possible to rebuild something meaningful and beautiful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, especially since I just launched in May of this year. Starting a business from scratch meant learning a lot very quickly. Securing permits, figuring out commissary kitchen requirements, and navigating health department regulations were some of the first hurdles. Each step came with paperwork, costs, and delays that I had to figure out without much guidance.
One of the biggest helps early on was the Cash to Cart Flow program from Jennie Blackwood. That mentorship gave me the step-by-step foundation I needed to get my business off the ground. Having someone guide me through the process, share resources, and answer questions gave me the confidence to move forward and actually launch The Sacred Flame.
Another challenge has been balancing the financial side of launching with the creative vision I have for my brand. Because I run a mobile charcuterie bar, I had to invest in equipment, supplies, and inventory while also building brand awareness and finding the right clients. There is always that balancing act between keeping costs manageable and still creating a high-quality experience.
Marketing has also been a learning curve. With no big budget, I have had to rely heavily on social media, networking, and word of mouth to introduce The Sacred Flame to the community. It has been a challenge, but also exciting to see the growth that comes from showing up consistently and putting myself out there.
Even though the road has not been smooth, I see every challenge as part of building a solid foundation. The obstacles have pushed me to become more resourceful and intentional, and I know they are shaping the long-term success of my business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own and operate The Sacred Flame Charcuterie Bar, a mobile grazing bar that specializes in creating charcuterie cups, boards, and spreads for weddings, corporate gatherings, and community celebrations. I am known for designing experiences that are not only delicious but visually stunning, where food becomes part of the atmosphere and the memories. My clients often tell me that my attention to detail and the way I personalize each event is what makes The Sacred Flame stand out.
What sets me apart is the way I bring my culture, creativity, and professional background into the work I do. I am a former bilingual teacher and hold a master’s degree in instructional design. By day, I work as an instructional designer for a tech company, where I focus on creating engaging learning experiences. That background has shaped the way I approach my business — I naturally think about design, flow, and how people will experience something from beginning to end. Blending that with my Mexican heritage, I infuse my boards with cultural touches, vibrant flavors, and a sense of celebration that reflects who I am.
What I am most proud of is that I built this business from the ground up and that it has already become part of so many meaningful moments. To know that something I created is being shared at someone’s wedding, a company event, or a special community gathering is an honor. For me, it is not just about food, it is about creating connections and moments that people will remember long after the last bite.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I do not really believe in luck. For me, everything I have been through has been part of a bigger plan and also the result of hard work and faith. What some might see as “bad luck,” like my divorce, I see as a turning point. It was incredibly difficult, but it pushed me to rebuild my life, to provide for my children, and to step into opportunities I might not have pursued otherwise.
On the other side, what some might call “good luck,” I see as alignment and preparation meeting opportunity. When the Cash to Cart Flow program with Jennie Blackwood came into my life, I was ready to take that step, and it gave me the guidance I needed at exactly the right time. I believe those moments come when you are willing to put yourself out there and do the work.
So instead of luck, I would say faith, persistence, and resilience have played the biggest role in my life and business. I have learned that even when doors close, there is always another path if you are willing to keep moving forward and believe in what you are building.
