Today, we’d like to introduce you to Dane Kenney.
Hi Dane, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started working part-time for a large coffee company in college and continued with them after college. The funny thing is, I never drank coffee until I started working in the industry. It made me realize how special coffee is and how it brings people together.
The main intention with Noble Joe is that by coming to us for your coffee, you are directly supporting entrepreneurs in other countries and local nonprofits as we donate a percentage of our revenue to support.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business, in hindsight, there are things I would’ve done differently. Some unnecessary purchases, for example. At the end of the day, it’s not a mistake if you learn from it and the goal is to be a little better today than we were yesterday.
Overall, the community in Austin has rallied around the Noble Joe brand because one of our mantras is “people over profits,” and we try to lean in and support our local and global communities in any way we can.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Noble Joe is meant to be a showcase for all different small businesses in Austin to be recognized and appreciated. So, we source every product that we serve from local small businesses in Austin to highlight other great entrepreneurs and small businesses in our city.
The long-term goal with Noble Joe would be to create a path that empowers our employees to become franchisees.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Specialty coffee will continue to grow… Many people appreciate small-batch roasters and the connection of food and coffee to their local community. With Noble Joe specifically, we hope to impliment our franchising model, grow our team and scale to other cities at the right time.
