Meet Daniella Green of Slaypedia/Transfer Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniella Green.

Hi Daniella, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
With a background built-in industrial engineering, commercial contracts and business development, I realized I was in a unique position to be able to offer the actual “how to” when preparing, launching, proper education/training of sustainability solutions & realistic approach/timeline to carbon print reduction for corporate organizations. I took advantage and quickly launched transfer Green when I realized executive leaders were hiring me to help them bring fresh perspectives to help their organizations survive a COVID impacted market.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not. In Texas, it’s a “good ole boys” club. As a woman and a woman of color, I often felt closed out. Which is why I am so passionate about Slaypedia. I created it due to my understanding of the lack of resources available to people of color as it pertains to advancement in the tech world, oil and gas. That platform is dedicated to Career coaching to teach how to pivot into senior leadership (as I previously occupied in corporate America), leadership delivery, and an understanding of negotiations and executive-level interviewing. I have worked closely with developing and helping minorities advance in executive leadership at companies like ConocoPhillips, Viacom, Shell Oil, and the Amazon partnership program, helping minority-owned companies secure business with them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am currently the Founder of the Transfer Green, the only black-owned Engineering Firm (EPC) in Texas; we do a number of things such as:

1. Work with minority-owned companies to align & secure opportunities with organizations and government projects that promote diversity and inclusion efforts. Working with them to ensure they are prepared for bid MBE/WMBE and have a solid plan of execution once awarded with the projects to ensure customer satisfaction.

2. Working with oil & gas corporations and tech companies in Texas by planning, procuring needed materials, cost estimates, planning and performing the actual engineering required to reduce their carbon print, to fully transition to renewable resources, successfully rollout going green efforts, & bring forth sustainability efforts to increase market dominance/presence.

3. This helps the corporate portfolio because we also engineer the “how to communicate” these efforts to key stakeholders and the general public in a way that establishes trust while forging key relationships

What were you like growing up?
I was an early “STEM kid”. So growing up, I was always confident with math, science. I was a bit of a nerd but I sincerely felt like that’s what made me special. I was always ahead of my peers so that only laid a foundation for me to be extremely confident in my capabilities. I think a lot of what it took to pour into me came from my grandparents who raised me. They invested a lot of time into nurturing me and keeping active in school and outside of school.
