Hi Ellsworth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey to starting Digital Junkie Technology Services & Consulting is deeply rooted in a passion for technology and problem-solving. Growing up in shelters and foster homes, I learned resilience, adaptability, and the importance of connection—lessons that shaped my desire to help others and create solutions that truly make a difference.
Over the past 20 years, my tech career has taken me across the country and even to parts of the world, giving me a wealth of knowledge and experience. I began using those skills to assist friends and family with their tech challenges—recovering lost photos, setting up networks, and troubleshooting devices. Over time, I saw a growing need for someone who could listen, understand, and deliver personalized solutions for families and small businesses. In January 2024, I decided to take the leap and officially launch my own business.
What started as a small operation focusing on Wi-Fi and security camera installations has since grown into a full-service technology company. Today, we offer data recovery, IT services, and more. One of the offerings I’m most proud of is helping families recover and organize their old home videos and photos, then implementing a media server so they can enjoy those memories anytime, anywhere. Our mission is simple: to connect life to technology, making it easier for people to protect what matters most and experience the benefits of a well-connected world.
It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m especially proud of the relationships I’ve built in the Austin area. Whether it’s livestreaming local basketball games or supporting community charities, giving back has always been at the heart of what we do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but the challenges have taught me a lot. One of the toughest parts was building the business without taking on debt—I had to grow carefully, step by step. As someone who’s naturally shy, getting out and meeting people was another big hurdle. Networking didn’t come easily, but I knew it was vital for connecting with clients and growing the business.
When it comes to tech, I’ve found that most people seem to suffer in silence. It wasn’t until I spoke with them that they realized their problems could be fixed or that there were better solutions out there. So many assumed they were stuck with the issue forever, and helping them see what’s possible has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, I’m excited to grow Digital Junkie and get our name out there so I can help even more people. I’m particularly focused on expanding our IT services to target businesses like dental and chiropractic offices. I started working with a local dentist this year, and it’s opened my eyes to new opportunities for growth in that space.
I want Digital Junkie to be a trusted resource for both families and businesses in Austin. Ultimately, I’m eager to build on the foundation we’ve established, stay true to our values, and continue helping clients solve their tech challenges in a personalized and meaningful way.
