Meet Emigine Sisa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emigine Sisa.

Emigine Sisa

Hi Emigine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started making art at a really young age when I found my passion for it. The infinite joy I get from being creative is unmatched. Doing this all while making people laugh and smile means so much to me. I turned my artistry, creativity, style, and humor into a therapeutic way to heal, enjoy, rhyme, and release through music and more! I’m a music artist, as well as a published singer/songwriter.

Over time, I’ve always had the desire to become a model as well. I wanted to build my self-esteem and personal confidence level. I’ve struggled with thinking my appearance wasn’t pretty enough back in the day. Boy, has that changed over the years! I feel it, and I know you can see it. I am an independent model and music artist with many more gifted talents up my sleeve that you’ll just have to watch and see.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If you can point me to a smooth road, that’d be awesome! At times, I wish things came along easily, but as an independent artist, managing all of the aspects of your career while maintaining sanity can be extremely difficult. Also, every expense comes out of your own pocket. So, we independent music artists and models work very hard for every single thing we do. Some days and times are more overwhelming than others. I used to say my dreams were bigger than my pockets.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I model and make different kinds of art & music. I specialize in having such a unique, eccentric sense of style. I’m known for rapping, singing, modeling, and creating an environment where people can be cheerful and celebrate. I’m most proud of my journey and my progress. The younger me would be so proud of how far I’ve come. Although I’ve seen obstacles, I was able to conquer them. What sets me apart from others is my charisma. I also think it’s cool being bilingual and Congolese American with Portuguese roots. I’ve been incorporating these things into my music recently.
