Meet Francesco Tricomi of Life Sound Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesco Tricomi.

Hi Francesco, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I go by the Italian American adaptation, Frankie. I was born and raised in the South Dallas area living anywhere from Oak Cliff to Richardson where I ended up laying true roots in a suburb that I will always consider home, Cedar Hill, Texas. I attended Cedar Hill High School where I was heavily involved in academics and local/school organizations. Through these endeavors, I crossed paths with unique people and opportunities that began to develop the foundation of who I am now. I truly believe that the influence, faith, and careful attention I received from the community and its leadership contributed to a large part of my success, rapid development, and Character. In case any of these Gentlemen are reading this, a special thank you to Instructors Ret. Chief MSgt. Keith Pinkard, Ret Lt. Col. Gregory Walker, Ret. MSgt. Ricky Tomme, MSgt. Dannion Mclendon, Former Mayor Rob Franke, and many more truly amazing people that helped shape me into something more than a student. I hope to pay forward to the next generation what I received from you all.

Near the conclusion of my high school experience, I received Automatic acceptance and extremely accommodating scholarship offers to the best public schools in Texas to include Texas A&M University and The University of Texas. After careful consideration of my aspirations and desired future, I decided it was necessary to attend at least one of the mentioned however, these dreams were accompanied by a caveat. I came from an income-challenged family that wouldn’t be able to provide support in this endeavor or any after. I faced the challenge of creating independent and reliable stability for my collegiate venture and life thereafter. Shortly after recognizing this quandary, I met TXARNG Recruiter Sgt. Cruz. He presented me with the opportunity to join the United States Military/Army with college in mind and I accepted. This decision helped solidify my life plans and pushed me further into the Arms of my first choice, Texas A&M, Mays Business School, and their Corps of Cadets.

Upon graduating high school, I was emersed into the real world almost immediately. Three days after receiving my diploma, I was on an airplane for the first time in my life with a one-way ticket to Fort Jackson, South Carolina to attend Army Basic Training. My carefully planned future was entirely dependent on the successful completion of this course. I graduated with flying colors and hopped on the next flight back to Texas where on arrival I began my journey at Texas A&M, Mays Business School, and the Corps of Cadets. My first year at A&M was something special, but I would also consider it a personal hell in a lot of ways that gave me insight I’m forever grateful for. I was concluding the infamous “hard” half of the Cadet and Mays program when the Covid Pandemic struck. I received a phone call in the spring of 2020 informing me that I was being called to Active-Duty Service by order of the President. This uprooted my way of life and completely altered my life’s plan and expected trajectory. I was challenged in many ways during this chapter of my life at A&M before and after the pandemic to include mentally, physically, ethically, spiritually, and socially. I had never experienced so much adversity, controversy, and pain all at once and from so many directions. Through all of this, I learned this and now live by it; true hardship will always forge better men than comfort ever will.

To my surprise, with all the problems the Pandemic brought during its debut it also provided me with so much good. During this two yearlong plus activation, I met so many different individuals that helped sharpen me as a professional, soldier, teammate, leader, and individual. At an age far below typical, I had been placed at the Joint Force Head Quarters in Austin, Texas that oversees all Texas Covid Operations where I realized I was the least seasoned and youngest person by far out of the 100 plus on hand divisional staff selected to lead 2-5 thousand individuals at any given time. Within the 1st four to six months, I went from learning how to complete the given tasks, roles, and responsibilities that affect the overall operational readiness/effectiveness in Texas to creating/teaching classes, leading teams, and after nine months to a year streamlining these thoughts and processes. After a short amount of time, I was recognized as the “Subject Matter Expert” in my particular focus and given a Federal award for my performance. I’m proud to say I have worked in conjunction, for or directly with The President and Governor, Texas Department of Emergency Management, FEMA, Military Officers and NCOs of every rank, and other State and Federal Authorities/Agencies, all while being the youngest individual in the building by far. This experience was one of the most difficult and rewarding things I have ever done. I firmly believe this transformed me, my work ethic, and my demeanor into something I never thought possible.

During all of this, I was discovering myself and what my true passions and gifts were. Even though I always had a deep appreciation for music, I never thought I would be involved the way I am today. Before I was activated, I was just beginning to investigate the music industry and eventually took up Talent Management after getting to Austin. This interest led to me working directly with recording artists, producers, engineers, businesses, and all music industry types. I caught an itch and discovered a new passion after working with my first Artist and close friend, Sierra South. After coordinating the recording of Sierra’s first and second song with Emmy nominated/Grammy holder George Pettus, I decided this was something I wanted to dive deeper into, and it has now snowballed into something beautiful.

I became an official Partner in Austin’s #1 luxury recording studio, Life Sound Studio in February of 2022. Since my acquisition, we have obtained the partnership and support of Austin’s superstar, Gold Placement Engineer PLATZUS, held exclusive networking events, hosted SXSW live performances with globally recognized artists like internet sensation Tay Money, hosted events and/or recording sessions for many verified artists to include Jasmin Cadavid, Sauce Walka, and Maddox to name a few. We have been spreading a message of unity and been focused on bringing New York’s, Atlanta’s, and Los Angele’s Recording cultures to Austin and taking it from the Live Performance Music Capital to THE Music Capital period.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In all my endeavors, I normally face some type of obstacle that I must overcome. Originally when I first joined the team, there were some immediate issues I recognized and did my best to correct. Life Sound Studio was opened in November 2021 and was struggling to compete as a new competitor in an already established market. The Studio entered a stable market with no prior rapport trying to compete with long-standing legacy studios. It was apparent to me that the studio needed to find its unique niche and stick to it while simultaneously taking a more genuine approach with the community. Within the first week of joining the studio, I put together an exclusive networking/local music listening event hosted by Austin’s Gold Engineer PLATZUS. We had an amazing turnout and began the rebranding/transformation of the studio and its influence in the community. This was also what acted as the catalyst for us to work with PLATZUS who has been a key part in materializing our vision.

We’ve been impressed with Life Sound Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
