Today we’d like to introduce you to Ihor Kaika
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hey there,
My name is Ihor Kaika. I’m a tattoo artist and studio owner. Our studio’s name is Bougie Bougie. I’m originally from Ukraine. I moved to NYC in 2016. After 7 years there, I decided to move to Austin with my wife.
My style of tattooing splits between different eras. At first I did a lot of dancers with flowers as their head. It was a very funky and dynamic style, it was really fun and easy to create. Then I entered a disco ball era, where every tattoo had a disco texture. Fruit, animals, objects – you name it. Suuuuper fun style, Austin abolutely loved it! Right now, I realize that as an artist, I want to create something I could call an album. So my style took a turn into a constellation era. I specialize in doing some big storytelling projects.
Having different eras allows me to keep exploring different ways to express myself, but it doesn’t mean I stop doing things from a different era. Whether you like to get something funky, a sparkly disco-themed tattoo, or you would like to tell a story in your next tattoo, I got you.

My wife is a huge supporter and organizer. She is my manager at work, in business and especially in life! Very clear-minded and mentally strong person, that inspires me in a lot of different ways! I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been an incredible journey so far! Austin welcomed us with open arms and the response to what we’re building has been amazing. Of course, no path is without its challenges, but they’ve all been minor in the grand scheme of things. Every hurdle is just a step toward something greater. So far, it’s been a smooth ride… knock on wood, haha.
