Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Saverin.
Hi Jamie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My fitness career began in 2016 when I was pregnant with my first child. I was a special education teacher in San Francisco and spent my summers as a director at an outdoor adventure sports camp. I always knew that I wanted to raise my children but was drawn to helping people in small group settings so I switched my career path from education to fitness and wellness so that I could be a mom, take care of myself, and help others reach their goals. Once I had my first born son, I taught stroller classes outside then became an owner of a Fit4mom Franchise in Danville, California. I loved the balance between a business owner and motherhood. When we moved to Lakeway, Texas in 2020, I was pregnant with my third baby and knew I wanted to spin off and start my own fitness brand. I started off with outdoor workout classes and 8 week challenges for women in my neighborhood and then shifted into personal training to help women one on one. Four kids later, I finally completed my family and felt ready to expand my business into a small boutique fitness studio. My family helped me build my dreams in the summer of 2025 and now Wabi Sabi Fitness Studio has over 50 women committed to small group or personal training programs each season.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everything has worked out exactly how I believe it was meant to. My goal was always to have my own studio space but motherhood is the most important piece of me so I balanced my career with my kids alongside me until I eventually realized I wanted to take everything up a notch and expand my business from my home gym to a studio space and work within the school hours so I can be present with my kids and get the best of both worlds. It was definitely difficult to manage both before I started asking for help and outsourcing. Trying to balance a growing brand while growing a family had its struggles but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a personal trainer & group fitness coach. I design progressive overload programs and create speciality fitness classes for all stages of womanhood. I specialize in prenatal and postpartum fitness, behavior changes for better habits and lifestyle, and fitness nutrition. My goal is to create a community so that women feel inspired to elevate their lives and look forward to come into the Wabi Sabi Studio to put in the work to get stronger together.
What does success mean to you?
Everything I design is seasonal. I believe that success depends on the level of effort you put towards your goals, not necessarily the outcome. If you are intentional about making changes and pushing past challenges to grow towards what is important to you then you are successful. Each season of life will bring out different strengths so assessing what worked and what needs more attention in the future can keep you on track for continued success.
