Meet Jasmine Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Jones.

Jasmine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up, I always had an interest in being my most creative self and creating abundance through sharing the gifts God has bestowed upon me. I started modeling in 2018, taking pictures for memories just like any other person. Once I warmed up to the camera, I began posting on Instagram and modeling went from a hobby to a passion within a year. Although picture-taking became easy, my career didn’t take off until 2020 when I started networking with locals in Austin,TX and showing up consistently for my passion. What got me where I am today is faith, consistency, and dedication. All it took was one “yes”. “Yes” to the calling, “Yes” to the gift, and “Yes” to choosing my passion.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Getting to this point in my modeling career has had its ups and downs, only to ensure I can endure this calling in my life. I believe trials and tribulations are meant to build our character and prepare us for our greater purpose far beyond our physical abilities. One of the struggles I’ve faced along the way includes going against tradition and silencing the opinions of others, prevailing through it all. When referring to tradition, I’m speaking in regard to religious aspects that society has deemed biased, which in fact can be misleading as well as influential to my true identity. I struggled with my appearance and how I should dress according to religious laws as well as trendy societal posts, but once I was able to embrace my own personal relationship with God, not only did I see him differently, but I also saw myself in a different light.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Besides modeling, I work as a full-time CNA and a full-time student at Concordia University. I specialize in Geriatrics, working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and private residences. I provide care to elderly patients who are too ill, cognitively impaired or physically disabled to care for themselves. My studies are based in Nursing, but I aspire to utilize my Nursing degree as a tool to push me further ahead in my career. I desire to use my platform to not only change worldly perspectives, but to apply my skills in a manner that will be beneficial to those I may never come into contact with. I desire to make an impact that huge.

I’m typically known as someone who is charismatic, optimistic, and vivacious. Others are naturally drawn to me and I don’t waste any time making new friends and acquaintances. Being inherently extroverted, I excel in social settings and make it my mission to approach the room in a friendly manner. I am also really funny and engaging. I have a lot of spontaneity and creativity, and I definitely don’t mind taking chances.

What sets me apart from others is my willingness to always be a student. I look at life in a different lense, to obtain as much information as I can to share with others someday. In addition to that, I’m faith-filled and I allow divine encounters to take place, releasing God’s provision to manifest in my life.

What I’m most proud of is my resilience and character, and how I’ve been able to uphold that. I’m proud of myself for stepping out on faith given that I started taking pictures for memories and not for a career I never knew I had such a deep love for. I’m trusting the process, knowing I’ll go further than I am now. This is only the beginning.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Building your confidence and inner worth is so vital to this process because you’ll always have something to fall back on when your identity is tested. Knowing who you keep you grounded in the right frame of mind that allows you to produce and exude productivity. Opinions fly out the mouths of others countless times as well as societal influences, and you must be prepared to center yourself in knowing who you are and the purpose you’re created for.
