Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Arnett.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It seems I have always done pet sitting and dog walking but never for pay. I just loved helping out my friends and neighbors with their pups and kitties! But in January of 2008 I decided to make it my full time career. I started JenniFurrr’s Pet Sitting and Dog walking by my boot straps and kept chugging along. My husband, Jeff, and I run the biz together and we believe in the golden rule. Treat others the way you’d like to be treated. I feel this guideline has kept us on track and helped us have the great business we have today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Hasn’t always been smooth but after many hiccups and figuring out where we want to be in the pet care space we have overcome those challenges. Being in Austin is great but there are tons of other companies like mine so competition is probably our biggest struggle. But with our longevity and reputation we are managing very well. Nearly 18 years in business is a very good sign we are doing something right : )
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We take care of clients dogs and cats. Simple answer. Whether they are traveling and need care for several days or they need a mid-day walk Monday- Friday. We customize a care plan to suit every pups/cats need. We care for them in their own home so they are most comfortable. I am proud of our longevity and our client retention.
