Hi Jesse, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi there, my name is Jesse. I’m 27 years old and I have been a Massage Therapist for nearly eight years. I have owned my own business for nearly two years now and I absolutely love what I do. My journey began while I was working with the elderly community when I was eighteen. I saw first hand how they could benefit from body work, stretching
and releasing negative energy that had been stored in their bodies for many years. That experience made me realize if we start to take care of our bodies earlier in life, maybe we won’t find our self’s in that same painful position later on.
That realization inspired me to enroll in massage therapy school and get my license. I instantly fell in love with the work. I discovered how much a massage could heal, and how deeply it can change the quality of one’s life. Over the years, I’ve been able to perfect my craft, learn how to tap into a higher frequency, listen to the body and understand what each individual person truly needs from me as I help them release what is no longer serving them.
Today, I specialize in Sports Injury Massage, Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial release, Reflexology, Prenatal Massages, Reiki clearings, Cranial Sacral Therapy and many more modalities. This work brings me much joy because I see the difference it truly makes, not in just my clients life’s, but my own as well. I feel honored to help people heal every single day, and I believe it shows when you love what you do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has NOT been an easy road getting to where I am today. Everything you see now is the outcome of three years working day and night, and pushing myself in ways I didn’t know that I could. When people say an entrepreneur is always working & always “on the clock.” I didn’t fully understand it until I lived it.
When I first started my journey, my life was in complete chaos. I lost my older brother a few months earlier in a tragic way, then got fired from my job and shortly after my grandfather, who was the glue to our family, passed away unexpectedly. While all of this was happening, I decided to start my own business and as you can imagine, it was a whirlwind.
But even in the middle of all that pain and confusion, I had amazing people behind me. People who believed in me enough to invest in my dream. My Fiancé, was number one! He helped me buy the shed that we converted into the studio I am in now. He and I, along with our families, came together and built it from the ground up. Every nail, every brushstroke, every bit of electrical work… it was all done by the people who love me. It was truly a family effort and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
Then, imagine this.. we’re in the middle of construction of my new office and BOOM, we find out we’re pregnant.
The lord really knew what he was doing, because he never sends a challenge we can’t overcome. Our son couldn’t have come at a more divine time! Looking back, every one of those experiences was a stepping stone meant to strengthen me, guide me, and show me I can survive anything with God and my family by my side.
Through all the hard ships and stepping into my new role as a mother, I was building my business every single day, and now I stand in a place I once prayed for.
