Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Anger.
Hi Josh, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my installation career when I was first hired at Best Buy in Dubuque, Iowa, back in September 2005. After approximately 8 years, I left Best Buy in June 2013 to work for a local Mom & Pop retail store named Great Sounds, also located in Dubuque. I stayed with them from June 2013 to July 2023, when I sold my house and moved to Texas to be closer to family who had moved in years prior.
I opened my business, Harmonise Start & Sound, in November 2023 after getting the proper permits in place. Business was slow to start, especially being not only new to town, but new to the state! To help familiarize myself more with the community, I joined the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce and volunteered in as many areas as possible. Now, I’m still the sole-owner of Harmonise Start & Sound, I’m on the Board of Directors with the Marble Falls Chamber, and I’m the chair of their Ambassador Committee.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Fortunately, I had the sale of my house in Iowa to fund my business venture, but money doesn’t last forever. I’ve since had to borrow money from family once or twice. To date, business is down, but has been steady recently.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Harmonise Start & Sound is a Car Audio and Electronics store, specializing in installation services. This has been my career for more than 20 years now, but every day brings a new challenge. The biggest thing that sets me apart is my location – I’m the only car audio shop this side of Cedar Park, so I don’t have much competition in this area.
What were you like growing up?
I mostly kept to myself growing up. I never really fit into one group or another. I enjoyed playing video games. I collected coins for a while, then knives, and now firearms… it seemed like the natural progression.

- $120/hour Sundays
