Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Llanos.
Hi Juan, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. Before we ask about your work life, you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been hardworking and had many goals that I wanted to achieve throughout my life. I would work as much as possible, but in the past, the money would go out just as fast as it came in, which would always keep me in the same spot. 4 years ago, my daughter was born four years ago, and the day she entered my life, I knew that I had to find a way to grow and secure a future for my family. I was so hungry for knowledge that I would spend endless hours researching and listening to financial podcasts. I was never big on reading for most of my life, but my drive led me to power through numerous books. I want to credit “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” for the vast mindset change. Once I started reading and listening to people in positions I wanted to be, I grew extremely fast. I was learning to change my life so quickly that I needed to talk to everyone about financial freedom. As the books taught me, talking to your friends about bettering your life becomes harder when not everyone is in the same boat. At that point, I wanted to try everything I could, which led me to real estate, so I got my real estate license as soon as possible. I loved it but wasn’t okay with the time spent away from my family. That didn’t stop my hunger for reaching my goals, so I was still on the hunt. One night, I heard a podcast on “Bigger Pockets” that mentioned how profitable a carpet cleaning company can be, so the next day, I learned how to open my business. I started taking classes through the IICRC and did everything I could to be the best in the industry. Things were moving along quickly, and as the days went on, I became more and more motivated and excited. That was a year ago, and it has grown so much since. Following the industry’s greats and learning all I could (which I’m constantly learning) led me to everything I have now, and I get too excited about what it can become for myself and my family.
Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been smooth at all. There has been a lot of pushback from the people around me, family struggles, and financial struggles, and it has been mentally taxing. Some days, it won’t work out, but then I think about what I have achieved so far and why I am working so hard: my family. It has become a lonely road, but I was preparing for it because that is what everyone I looked up to would say it is like. Even today, it is a lot of hard work, but I love it.
We’ve been impressed with Juan and Done Carpet Cleaning, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in carpet, upholstery, and tile/grout cleaning. I focus on commercial buildings due to my current w2 job, but I enjoy taking any job. I am constantly taking classes and learning everything I can to be the best in the industry. I pride myself on giving everyone the best quality work possible and being dependable. My slogan is “No Juan cares more,” I stand by that 100%. I hold dependability so high that it drives me to be the best.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I must give the most credit to my the love of my life Sarah and my daughter Octavia. I had never felt so driven to create a better life for my family until these ladies entered my life. Another big supporter would be my parents for always being there for me, even if we live over 100 miles away. Huge shoutout to my best friend Jesse Hajj for always being someone I can go to for anything. Lastly, I want to credit Rob Allen from Truckmount Forums for being a knowledge powerhouse and opening my eyes to the business’s potential.
I want to thank my friend Matthew Becker for being a driven individual which is inspiring to be around.
