Meet Keturah Rollins of Austin, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keturah Rollins.

Hi Keturah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As an Apparel & Textiles major at UT Austin, I’m constantly being immersed into fashion, fabrics, and the business behind fashion. However, photography has always been a joyful hobby and a way to blend my creative side with real moments. As it began with snapping birthdays and candid friend shots, it soon evolved into something richer. I discovered that I didn’t just love taking pictures, I also loved capturing great moments.
As people saw that my images weren’t just visually appealing, they saw that it conveyed depth and authenticity. That recognition marked a turning point. That’s when I realized people saw something special in my work. What began as an enjoyable hobby naturally transformed into a meaningful pursuit.
Balancing homework, work hours, and photoshoots taught me more than work technique. I’ve learned to truly listen to clients, understand their vision, and help me deliver something that naturally appeals to them all while staying authentic to my own style. I’ve grown to master time management, developing a brand, and discovering the joy of blending fashion and photography. Each session teaches me something and looking forward, I’m gratefully excited to expand. As the Lord guides me in this journey, I’m grounded in his promise of knowing that God has a great plan for me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a full-time student, juggling a part time job, schoolwork, styling photoshoots, and photo editing, can be an extreme challenge. There are days where I’m spending late nights working on homework and refining images, followed by early mornings of class, drafting designs or prepping for a shoot. At times, deadlines feel overwhelming and fitting it all in can feel like a nonstop race. But through it all, I’ve learned to adapt. I’ve become more organized, strategic about planning. Each challenge taught me vital lessons in time management while staying creative. In the end, seeing all my hard work makes every struggle worth it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My photography spans a wide range of experiences such as fashion shows, brand deal shoots for athletes, birthday events, and more. I shoot with my professional lens, the Canon EOS Rebel T3i, which allows me to capture sharp, high-quality images in a variety of settings to show authentic and candid moments. What I’m most proud of is the way my photos make people feel seen. Whether I’m shooting someone for the first time or working with a returning client, I strive to create a space where they feel confident and celebrated.

Any big plans?
As God leads my path after graduation, I plan to be in the fashion industry, driven toward a dynamic role as a Fashion Designer or Product Developer for a major fashion brand in a big city. I envision collaborating with designers on seasonal collections, sourcing fabrics, crafting tech packs, and having hands‑on development, At the same time, I’m still committed to leveling up my photography work and building my portfolio through shoots, look-books, and editorials, and refining my creative skills behind the camera. Grounded in faith, I believe that working diligently and embracing growth, God will guide me toward the opportunities He has in store.
