Meet Lahana Vigliano of Nuvitru Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lahana Vigliano.

Hi Lahana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always knew that I wanted to be in healthcare – at six years old to be exact. Granted, that dream was becoming a doctor. I became a young mom at 18 and continued going down that path. I worked full-time at a local grocery store and went to University of Central Florida full time, all while juggling being a mom and getting married. After I got married and was pregnant with 2nd child, my heart started to change. I started disagreeing with the mindset of “every pill for every ill” and realized that I wanted to change my major. I switched my undergrad from pre-med to nutrition science. Shortly after I graduated with my Bachelor’s, I became a stay at home mom for a short period of time before the entrepreneurial spirit in me stirred. I founded Nuvitru back in 2015 and the rest is history. In addition to running Nuvitru, a couple of years ago, I went back to school to get my Master’s degree in clinical nutrition and will be graduating fall of 2021. I plan on applying for a doctorate program in clinical nutrition in 2022.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There has been a lot of challenges and obstacles. Being a young mom is challenging enough, let alone adding full-time school, full-time work, planning a wedding, and just doing the normal “life” stuff. I got my footing there and the challenges still come, even after getting used to juggling all the hats of being a mom/entrepreneur/wife. In the business world, we’ve had to overcome typical business ups + downs and even big legal things, like a rebrand. I find that those situations force me to grow – emotionally, mentally, physically.

We’ve been impressed with Nuvitru Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Nuvitru Wellness is a nutrition private practice based out of Austin, TX. We help women who are struggling with hormonal imbalances and digestive issues to use a food-as-medicine approach to healing. Many women don’t recognize the body that they are in any longer and we want to teach them how to bring back the body they do recognize. We focus on diet, environment, exercise, stress, sleep and provide a holistic approach. It’s not only me but a team of dietitians as well. We are committed to serving women with the best healthcare. We are also expanding into a franchise model, so we can provide a business model for other like-minded nutrition professionals to reach more women. While we’re located in Austin, TX, our services are virtual! We do functional lab testing to further help understand our client’s individuality. We emphasize to stop DIYing and listening to the social media/neighbor recommendations and truly start to understand your body and what it needs! There is so much frustration in the diet world and there doesn’t have to be.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Right now, textbooks are my life. To escape work and reality, you’ll find me deep dive into a romance novel or a good Netflix/Hulu series. Business podcasts are my favorite to move me forward business mindset-wise, such as CEO School, online marketing made easy, promote yourself to CEO, and more!
