Today we’d like to introduce you to Laurie Vazquez-Campagna.
Hi Laurie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The past few years have been an absolute whirlwind! After college I moved to Chicago and began my career as a freight broker. I took a role in carrier sales and truly enjoyed my time working in freight. Freight was an entirely different world but it teaches you to work very hard and move fast, and I had a ball while doing so. Chicago was fun but I always knew I wanted to move far away one day, so eventually I transferred offices and moved to Austin, TX.
After a few years in freight, I took time off and was a SAHM/W. I got married and had my daughter, London, and we spent everyday together. This gave me a lot of time to travel and explore my hobbies and interests freely – and also gave me time to get my weekly blowouts which quickly became my signature ‘thing.’ Anywhere I traveled, I always stopped to get a blowout and took notes of the way they did them. I always knew I wanted a business of my own and had different ideas float around – but it wasn’t until one night where I was up late researching round brushes that I stumbled upon Blo’s franchising page and everything changed. The next day was a Thursday; that evening I told my husband what I had found and that I wanted to do it. By Monday morning, I was on the phone with corporate putting things in motion and have not stopped moving since.
To date, I am a multi-unit franchisee and currently own Blo Goodnight Ranch & Blo Lexington. I am super proud of this new venture and like I say everyday, “we’re just happy to be here!”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing in business is ever a smooth road upwards. There will be something new to test you everyday. Every step of the way comes with challenges—construction delays, shifting timelines, recruiting hurdles, and uncontrollable external factors. The great thing is every challenge is a gift because it is an opportunity to take it as a good learning lesson. Everyday we have a lot of opportunities to learn and grow, and you become very strong from it. When something difficult lands in my lap, I make it a priority to ask: What can we learn from this, and how will we do it differently next time? Approaching challenges with this mindset—while still having fun every day and genuinely loving what I do—makes it possible to handle anything head-on.

At Blo Goodnight Ranch, we specialize in blowouts, makeup, extensions, bridal, travel services, memberships and more. We also offer a fantastic membership program at a competitive rate. Our guests come for the blowouts and stay for the fantastic pink carpet treatment they are receiving daily. Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
This one is tricky. I don’t really see luck as having played a defining role in my life or business. What I do firmly believe is that every decision you make along the way shapes your outcome. Every choice I’ve made, every idea I’ve committed to, and every step I’ve taken has come together to bring me to where I am today and for that I am super grateful. It’s a constant reminder that in business we are constantly evolving – I am not who I was even 6 months ago and I won’t be the same 6 months from today. My best advice – be excited and confident in each decision you make, you never know what is going to come next.
