Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Owen.
Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a mom of three and wife to an amazing entrepreneur, and I have an incredible life. Raised by a single mother with minimal means, I made my way, on my own, through a prestigious business degree and as the first University graduate in my extended family. I started my career with a Big Four consulting firm, rising the ranks quickly and receiving accolades for my work. Once married and ready to put down roots, I left the road warrior arena landing an executive-level position for a private company. From there, I was recruited by Fortune 500 companies and found great success for my companies and clients. Throughout my time in the corporate world, I found the stress and time commitment were not in line with my soul’s purpose. I learned life-changing skills using mindset and spiritual guidance that has allowed me to create the life of my dreams – and I continue creating every day. I now spend full time at home with my children while pursuing my life’s work of supporting those around me.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has only sometimes been a smooth road. During incredibly challenging times working in corporate America, I was utterly overwhelmed, working over 80 hours per week and missing out on important time with my family. For a time, I subscribed to the idea that this kind of crazy work life was a badge of honor. As I got older and wiser, I realized this was not how I wanted to live, so I started thinking differently. My worth was not tied to how much I worked or my team’s success. My view changed to viewing my happiness and the amount of joy in my life as the ultimate success metric.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently a mentor and coach. I help people maximize their personal and professional potential by assisting them to see things differently than they might otherwise and using this to unlock their incredible potential. I help them envision their goals and dreams that are uniquely their own and help them take action to realize them. It is my honor to assist people in showing up as their true selves where they can find fulfillment and change the world.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The coaching industry will continue to grow, with people looking for more purpose in their lives. We should also see an increase in companies looking to coaches for support as they navigate the post-pandemic employment landscape driving for increased employee satisfaction on the job.
