Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorianne Lancaster.
Hi Lorianne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in Libreville Gabon. I moved to Austin almost 15 years ago for college. I have always liked fashion and makeup but on my own terms. Before the pandemic, I took the hobby of making press-on nails and decided after positive feedback to take that hobby and turn into a business adding what I think today are beauty staples such as lipglosses and mascara.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am still getting started and nothing is smooth about starting a small business. I decided to have my own line of beauty products along with my nails which meant finding a white label manufacturer with reasonable prices. Then the website, it’s expensive to create a site by hiring an expert so I did it all myself which took me months to even have something decent to launch and I am still updating the design. It is all worth it because it’s my passion. Now all I need is customers.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am as well a corporate worker in insurance. What sets me apart is my determination, no matter the issue I am the person to see to help find a solution because I will exhaust all the avenues.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Music. I am talking about sounds, it’s universal, it’s soothing. My mood can be brighter by just listening to music.
