Meet Magdareli Luna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Magdareli Luna.

Hi Magdareli, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The instinct in me to always lend a helping hand is how I ended up in the real estate world. I started with just simply helping family members in their process. They reached out for help/advice after my husband and I bought our first home. I then became their trusted translator due to language barriers. Helped them along the way up until closing and even after closing. After that, I slowly transitioned into realtor executive assistant to my fantastic mentor team lead, Leteisha Finley. I finally had the courage and belief to switch my career entirely, and I am now your trusted realtor!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a bumpy road along the way because no transaction is easy or the same. In a shifting market, we endure different obstacles. Each individual client has their specific set of needs and wants. However, overcoming obstacles and fighting for my clients is what makes my everyday job so rewarding! Getting to closing day is getting across the finish line. And the best reward is seeing our client’s smiles and appreciation.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am Realtor. I work with everyone who needs to buy, sell, or invest in a home. The majority of my clients, I would say, are first-time homebuyers and or DACA or ITIN recipients. I love to build a trustworthy relationship with all of my clients because, in a market full of realtors, it does take an excellent level of trust for clients to choose just one. I believe what sets me apart from others is my fearless courage to be able to ask questions and be persistent in getting what my clients need. Everyone has such specific unique needs. I’m always up to research and contact creative to find ways to get my clients with ITINs and DACAs fully closed on their homes, as those specific types of transactions are a bit different and require a lot more attention to detail and more research. And as a Hispanic woman who grew up with immigrant parents, a low minority, and Spanish as a first language household, I know firsthand how difficult it was not to have someone to trust when making such big life-changing decisions. Doing what I do now, I genuinely do it to impact people’s lives positively. It makes my heart full and happy knowing that I am that helping hand myself and my family once needed.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I definitely took a huge risk changing careers completely as I come from the medical and social work industry I was stopping everything to switch gears a whole 360 and investing my families savings into something completely new. Not everything is what it seems in the real estate industry. I think people assume that you just immediately start making revenue and money but that’s not the case you have to invest a lot of time and money at first before you see your full returns!
