Today we’d like to introduce you to Marijana Kurcubic.
Hi Marijana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m from Serbia and grew up watching my grandma plant flowers in her garden. This stuck with me growing up and my love for flowers turned into a passion. In 2015, I came to America (Alaska), by myself, with two suitcases and one big dream!
I used this passion for flowers to make arrangements and bouquets for my friends, which led others to reach out and request for me to do the same for their special occasions. Later down the road a customer approached me asking if I could make a charcuterie platter. Little did I know this would reveal a talent and passion I didn’t know I had in my heart. I thought to myself “Why stop there”? This then led to a vision to unique events on a much larger scale.
In 2020, I decided I needed a new challenge and moved to Austin, TX. I didn’t know what to expect; new city, new people and a new dream. But I am a believer in karma. Shortly after moving to Austin, I met some very kind people who shared advice, soon we became friends and even collaborated on some events together.
January 2021 M Events was created.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No road worth traveling is going to be perfectly paved. Especially when one is traveling down that road alone. I am very close with my family and in moments of hardship or celebration, it was difficult not having them here with me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My company is M Events and we provide a vast amount of services from beautiful flowers, charcuterie, fruit and balloon arrangements, and event decorating. No matter the event or special occasion, M Events finds a way to make a client’s vision come to life. I am most proud of myself for following this dream I had as a kid and now have turned it into a reality.
What sets M Events apart is passion, drive and natural ability to provide unique services to clients that they will remember.
Also, I travel a lot which allows me to experience new moments of inspiration that I can add to my services. I am a very visual person who uses all my surroundings, big or small to inspire me.

Quality and happy customers. This is the key and driving force behind M Events. When I see the vision come to life, it fills my heart with an immense amount of joy and pride.
