Meet Marisa Bain of Bastrop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marisa Bain.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always been a dancer, so having a career in professinal dance that turned in studio ownership, is literally me living my dream. Dance was always more than steps to me. Dance class and the instructors who trained me, taught me accountbility, respect, discilpine, work ethic, so many life skills are taught in the dance room. I wanted to recreate what i experienced as a young child in my school because it shaped me into the person and leader I am today,

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
All in all me owning a dance studio has been pretty smooth. All businesses have ups and downs, all studio directors are faced with wearing so many hats, it can be stressful, I am grateful things have been more positive than negative in my decades of teaching and business owning. I truly feel that life happens with you – not against you. I have surely had business pains in the past and I am sure more are to come, but life always works out. I can honestly say that me and all the instructors at LDC teach quality dance from the heart, all strive to be our best, all work really hard – and for that I know my studio will always be successful.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My dance studio, Liberty Dance Center, which first off in named after my daughter, Liberty. *fun fact*

At LDC we specialize in dance instruction in all styles and to all ages. At LDC we believe little girls should dance like little girls. We are an age appropriate neighborhood dance studio that focuses on not only proper dance technique, but also enriches children by building self esteem, confidence, respect and grit! LDC creates a safe, happy environment for any child who loves to be creative and move! We offer dance classes to ages 2+.

I am most proud of creating a well-known studio in an amazing community of people. Bastrop has such a special feel and the families there are incredibly supportive and loving. I am also very proud that I am currently building my new 5,000 square foot dance studio in the heart of Bastrop! It has been a life long dream to achieve this and it is happening!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Just not a day goes by where I don’t pinch myself that I have this amazing life and special gift of dance to share with the Bastrop community. Thank you to all the LDC families who trust us with their child’s dance education. We do not take our job lightly at LDC! Here is to many more decades of sharing the love for dance!
