Hi Megan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Let’s see, after spending over 20 years working in the medical field as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, I was ready for a career change.
My husband and I had considered the idea of purchasing and renting out a restroom trailer business. When a friend revealed she was launching a franchise in that exact industry, it felt like a sign that this was the right direction for us.
As a new franchisee operating for just a few months, my primary focus is building brand awareness. Our goal is to establish ourselves as the premier, go-to provider for event restroom solutions throughout the greater Austin area.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Roamin Restrooms is still very new to me- I’m a new franchisee and I’m in the early stages of building the business. So in many ways, the road is still being paved. The biggest challenge so far has been simply getting my name out there and letting people know that level of luxury restroom experience even exists.
I’m learning the industry, meeting people and introducing Roamin Restrooms to the community one event at a time. It’s a lot of groundwork, but it’s also exciting.
We’ve been impressed with Roamin Restrooms of North Austin, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Roamin Restrooms provides luxury portable restroom trailers that give guests a clean, comfortable, and high-end experience at any event. Our trailers feature air conditioning, real flushing toilets, running water, spacious stalls, and individual sinks- amenities people truly appreciate at weddings, festivals, and outdoor gatherings.
We also offer the option to add decor to match your event and the option of a personal restroom attendant to keep everything spotless and welcoming throughout your event.
People are tired of using regular porta potties and luxury restroom trailers like ours should be the standard at any outdoor event.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Hands down, the Bible is the single best resource for navigating life in general. I prioritize taking time to read it every morning, as this practice helps me start my day off on the right foot.
Beyond that, I’ve recently found practical value in business and personal development books. I just finished Mistakes That Made Me a Millionaire by Kim Perell, which offered incredibly insightful lessons on turning failures into massive success.
