Today we’d like to introduce you to Picky Palate.
Hi Picky, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The seven met through our Business Incubator class at Westlake High School. We all had complementary skill sets and immediately felt we worked well together. We are incredibly passionate about child wellness and hope to aid parents in having fuss-free mealtimes. We formed Picky Palate- an app dedicated to helping your child expand their food palate.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We needed some help in the beginning, identifying which pain point we wanted to solve. We bounced around different aspects of the food industry, such as people who suffer from allergies and students getting hungry in the middle of the day. Finally, we decided to target picky eaters; from there, it’s been a smooth ride!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Aside from working on our small business, 4 out of the 7 have part-time jobs elsewhere. Our jobs include teaching dance, reception, retail, and restaurant work. We all specialize in customer service and work face-to-face with customers. Our close-knit relationships set us apart from other companies, as we care deeply about customer relationships. We all take pride in communicating effectively and respectfully with our customers.
We had we love to hear about your fond memories from growing up.
As a group, we don’t have childhood memory together. However, all seven of us were picky eaters as children, so we feel this pain point is serious among children!
