Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Plymire.
Hi Rachel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Helping people has always been a passion of mine. As a former elementary teacher and reading specialist, I love to see people grow, change, and progress. Taking my classroom skills and education as a Nutritional Therapist, I work with each client to get to the root cause by addressing the foundations of health. Growing up in New Mexico and Ohio to be close to both sides of the family, I ended up in Mississippi studying elementary education while on a cheerleading scholarship. My mom and husband were both diagnosed with autoimmune diseases the same year, and I was reading every book out there and listening to every health podcast. Moving to Texas, where everything is bigger, I hoped for more opportunities. I found it, and it sent me on a new path! I decided to shift careers and finished school to be a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So much information is out there, and it’s trying to find the forest through the trees. The road to helping my husband, mother, and myself resolve the various symptoms we were experiencing was hard until I was formally educated. With a healthy knowledge background, I gained a deeper understanding throughout my training.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
You are right where you belong if you’ve been trying to figure out why you don’t feel like yourself and have been told that “everything is fine.” I’ve been there, too, along with so many of my family members. Together we will work to get to the root cause of your symptoms to get you back to feeling amazing and living your best life! Just because your symptoms are common doesn’t make them normal.
My Philosophy:
Everyone deserves to feel their best, and it can be done with a food-first approach focusing on a properly prepared, nutrient-dense, whole-foods diet. This is not a quick fix or a bandage to mask symptoms but to get to the root cause of the issue. No “one size fits all” exists since we are biologically different. Nutritional Therapy centers on the support of our body as a whole. As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I will use a holistic and bio-individual approach to nutrition and lifestyle to improve health and well-being by emphasizing foundational support to meet you where you are.
The Foundations:
– Digestion
– Blood Sugar
– Fatty Acids
– Minerals
– Hydration
You’re in the right place if you’ve repeatedly heard that your symptoms are “normal” and something you must live with. I’m telling you, you don’t! Many symptoms are so common that they have become normalized, but that doesn’t mean they are normal. Symptoms are like your body’s check engine light. They’re alerting that something is off. Let’s listen up and take action! I work one-on-one with clients, and together we devise a plan of action to reach your goals and reduce toxicity. I help people that have symptoms of autoimmune conditions, hormone imbalances, digestive dysfunction, or thyroid dysfunction. There is no “one size fits all approach.
Clients have 24/7 access to me to ask questions, weekly emails with tips and tricks, bi-weekly calls via Zoom, group chat support, and more. I offer recipes and food swaps to ensure clients can still enjoy foods, just in a healthier way. We also address lifestyle- from sleep hygiene, movement, stress management, and self-care. Education is power, and after working with me, you will walk away with the knowledge to make healthier choices for you and your family.
What do you think about luck?
I feel fortunate that I found my dream career and am appreciative that things (my family’s health issues) that seem like a burden are blessings in disguise.
