Meet Sana Ahmed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sana Ahmed.

Hi Sana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Mumbai, India, and spent my childhood moving around the world with my trusty camera in hand. In my ever-shifting world, my camera was the only thing that remained constant and reminded me of all the places and people I had called home.

Since moving to Austin, Texas in 2003 and starting a family of my own, photography is still a constant and I love how it allows me to vividly relive some of the most beautiful times of my life. Becoming a mother changed my perspective in life and I realized how special it is to document your kids. But, as moms, we are often behind the cameras and not in the images with our kids. Based on my experience, I curated a stress-free portrait experience catered to busy moms who want to document their love for their families.

I document organic, honest moments of love within families, transforming them into fine art for your home. Through the use of soft, natural light and soothing, neutral tones, I ensure that your images will hang tastefully in your living room no matter the season or year. From my curated client closet to fine custom art and heirloom products, I love creating a family portrait experience with beautiful images and beautiful memories.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I started the business as an artist and I have had to learn how to really run a business and every aspect of it in the process. Besides a photographer, I am also a business manager, accountant, marketing expert and so many other roles that I have had to learn. As a small business owner, I am a one-person show, so managing time and running an efficient business has definitely been a learning curve. Unlike a corporate job, I do not have a set number of hours to work, instead I am working all the time- so managing my time well has been a struggle that I am still learning.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a full-service portrait photographer who is dedicated to making portraits enjoyable and stress-free for busy moms and their families by taking care of every aspect. From wardrobe styling, hair and makeup to the installation of their custom artwork, I am there to care for the tiniest of details while ensuring a family’s legacy is preserved for generations through tangible art. I specialize in maternity, newborn, baby and family portraits.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am so passionate about motherhood and documenting all aspects of it. As a busy mom of two, I get it. It seems like life speeds past without a second for you to even catch your breath. And oftentimes, you don’t even know the value of a moment until it’s gone. That’s why I’m dedicated to making portraits enjoyable for your family by taking care of every aspect- from what you wear to the artwork that adorns your walls. Whether in the sun-drenched fields of Austin or in my cozy studio, we can design a session that is unique to each and transforms beautiful connections between your family into fine art for your home.
