Meet Sarah Stewart of Austin, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Stewart

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into the fitness and exercise science world started when I was getting my degree at Texas Tech. I then went to do my internship at a performance center in Sarasota Florida which transcended my understanding of the human body into an even greater excitement for the field. After that, I landed my first professional job at an incredible gym in Austin! I grew rapidly and still have clients from back then (2000).

My passionate for the field of Exercise and Human Movement is only growing and I plan to expand in knowledge and understanding of the human body to help people move and live more functionally without injury.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, it has been amazingly smooth. I’ve kept my passion for what I started doing since I was 19. I enjoy working with my clients and find every type of avenue to grow in my field. That’s what helps when struggles of any type arise.

With that being said, the only struggles have been when COVID hit us in 2022, where everything shut down, but despite that challenge, it gave me a chance to know what to do if it happens again.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What I am known for is my unique and personalized approach to take any client to their next level of fitness and wellness with a scientific and evidence based approach to training. I enjoy training clients of all different background and ages, from 5-100 years of age! My focus is on the Kinetic Chain and all of the muscular systems involved in keeping it optimally functioning. For example, helping people learn how to get up off the ground if they fall with specific diseases such as Parkinson’s and dementia, but also helping the humans of all types who just want to maintain fitness as they turn another age. =)

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, keep going! People just stopped during Covid and they might stop again due to someone they love or themselves getting sick from something. It isn’t fun being sick, but it will be ok and everyone can get through Covid! Keep exercising, eat healthy, and enjoy time outside in the sun! Also, eat a lot of veggies, citrus, and berries, keep protein consumed throughout the day, and drink a lot of water. =) Exercise, but MOVEMENT, is my answer to longevity in short.
