Today we’d like to introduce you to Susanna Medrano.
Hi Susanna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Susanna Medrano and I grew up in Leander, Texas (when it was rural). At the age of 18, I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas at Austin and never left Austin.
In 2013, I went through an early 30-year-old mid-life crisis, and after spending 15 years in the nonprofit/legal world, I took the plunge and got my Real Estate license and began my journey in the sales industry. I went to work for Watters International Realty and, in my first year, helped 45 families in central Texas and closed close to 12 million in Sales. Over the next few years, I was the top producing agent and became a Team Leader and then the Director of Sales for the Austin Office from 2017 to 2020. In 2021, I took a new role – National Sales and Leadership Coach for our entire network in coaching and leading our leaders and agents. This summer and on my 10th work anniversary, I was awarded the role of Partner. I would say that what got me here is being relentless, being humble, and giving each day my absolute hell! I have been on the ride of a lifetime, and making the decision to try something different by taking the plunge into the sales profession has changed my life.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No road is smooth. If it were smooth, we would not be living in reality. That is what has made this journey so amazing. Some of the struggles have been burnout and wanting something for something more than they want it for themselves. I have overcome both struggles, but it took some time, persistence and learning to detach from the outcome.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am an avid reader. I have conducted two reading challenges in the last few years. In 2018, I read 52 books in 52 weeks about real estate, mindset, leadership, and management. I tracked my journey on Facebook. This year, I am reading 24 books in 12 months. I am also documenting my journey on all of my social media platforms.
