Entrepreneurship wasn’t something I originally planned; it’s something I grew into through creativity and a passion for creating meaningful experiences.
My journey into entrepreneurship started with a passion for creating memorable experiences through desserts. I launched my first mobile dessert business, Cupcake Avenue, where I began serving at local events and quickly learned the ins and outs of building a brand and connecting with the community.
That experience opened my eyes to what entrepreneurship really is, not just selling a product, but building something that connects with people. We were learning everything in real time, how to serve customers, how to show up consistently, and how to turn an idea into something people actually support.
As I grew, I saw an opportunity to create something more interactive and unique, which led to the creation of Ave Confections Cotton Candy. I wanted to offer more than just a sweet treat; I wanted to create an experience that people would remember. From live spinning at events to fully customized flavors, cotton candy cakes, and branded packaging, Ave Confections was built around fun, creativity, and elevated presentation.
Since then, Ave Confections has expanded into a multi-service brand offering event rentals, wholesale and fundraising opportunities, and nationwide shipping through our online store. We’ve also built partnerships with local businesses and continue to grow through new concepts like subscription boxes and retail placements.
Throughout this journey, I’ve focused on blending creativity with strategy, scaling the business while maintaining quality and a strong customer experience. Today, Ave Confections continues to grow as a brand centered around celebration, community, and creating unforgettable moments.
For me, Ave Confections is more than a business. It represents growth, creativity, and partnership. It’s something we’ve built together as a family, and it reflects our desire to create joy, build something meaningful, and continue evolving as entrepreneurs. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been challenges along the way, entrepreneurship will test you in ways you don’t always expect.
One of the biggest challenges for me has been learning how to balance everything. As a wife, a mom, and a business owner, there are constant demands on your time and energy. There were moments where it felt like I had to choose between showing up for my family or showing up for the business, and that’s not an easy place to be.
Another challenge has been stepping into confidence. When we started, there were times I questioned if what we were building would really work, or if people would see the vision the same way we did. Especially with something like Ave Confections taking a product people often see as simple and positioning it as a premium experience required us to think differently and stand firm in that vision.
We’ve also faced the typical business challenges such as figuring out pricing, managing inventory, learning how to scale, and navigating the ups and downs of inconsistent income in the beginning. There’s a lot of trial and error, and you have to be willing to adjust quickly without losing momentum.
But I think the biggest lesson through all of it has been resilience. Every challenge forced us to grow, communicate better, and become more intentional about how we operate. It hasn’t been perfect, but each obstacle has helped shape both me and the business into something stronger.

Looking ahead, I’m focused on continuing to grow Ave Confections Cotton Candy in ways that expand both reach and experience. One of our biggest goals is to further develop our subscription box program, bringing curated seasonal and specialty flavors to customers nationwide. This allows people to enjoy our products even if they can’t attend our events in person, and it’s been really exciting to see how much people enjoy discovering new flavors each month.
We’re also exploring more wholesale and retail partnerships, connecting with local businesses and boutiques to bring our cotton candy into new markets. On the events side, we’re continuing to enhance the live experience, offering customizations, themed setups, and unique offerings like cotton candy cakes and party favors that make celebrations truly memorable.
Ultimately, my focus is on growth without compromising quality. I want Ave Confections to continue being known for creativity, fun, and premium experiences, while also reaching new audiences and finding innovative ways to delight our customers. Personally, I’m looking forward to the challenge of scaling the brand, trying new flavors, and creating opportunities for collaboration with other local businesses and community partners.
