Meet Vincent Chapman Jr. of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Chapman Jr.

Hi Vincent , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Perfect Tyman started as a personal brand—a way for me to express my love for art and individuality through casual streetwear. Growing up, I was always drawn to bold designs and unique styles that told a story. What began as a personal hobby, designing t-shirts and hats for myself and close friends, quickly caught the attention of others who saw the passion and originality behind the brand.

As Perfect Tyman gained momentum, I realized it could be more than just a streetwear label. My long-term vision has always been rooted in sports and community. I wanted to merge my love for art and design with my passion for athletics, aiming to evolve Perfect Tyman into a brand that creates custom sports uniforms for teams.

The journey is ongoing, but every design, whether it’s a hoodie or a jersey, carries the same dedication to excellence and individuality that Perfect Tyman was founded on. This is more than a brand—it’s a story of growth, creativity and the pursuit of a dream. And this is just the beginning.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey of Perfect Tyman has been nothing short of a blessing, even though it hasn’t always been smooth. One of the biggest challenges has been finding the right manufacturer—a process that required balancing product quality, competitive pricing and, most importantly, reliable turnaround times. It took perseverance and countless trials, but every step taught me valuable lessons about building a brand with integrity and excellence.

Despite the obstacles, the rewards have been worth it. Perfect Tyman has created amazing opportunities, like preparing to host the 2nd Annual Basketball Tournament at the City of Leander’s Juneteenth Celebration in June 2025. Events like this reflect the heart of the brand—bringing communities together and celebrating progress. This journey has been a testament to staying committed to the vision, even when the road gets tough.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Being a portrait artist has always been a deep passion of mine, but I’ve kept an open mind to exploring other forms of art. While I started with drawing—primarily portraits of people’s family members as special requests—I’ve since expanded into painting, wood burning and even tattooing. Each medium has challenged me to grow and explore new ways to express my creativity.

My favorite style is realism because it allows me to capture the intricate beauty of the body and nature. There’s something magical about bringing life to a blank canvas, whether it’s a person’s expression or the delicate details of the natural world.

As I’ve grown as an artist, I’ve sought new ways to share my art with the world. That’s how I found my way into clothing design. Now, I’m channeling my love for realism and creativity into wearable art, giving people a chance to carry a piece of my passion wherever they go. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited for what’s to come.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories was the day an artist visited my school and pointed out my artwork as something special. It was a simple moment, but it left a huge impact on me. Hearing someone I admired recognize my talent gave me the confidence to keep creating and believe in my abilities. That moment planted the seed for my artistic journey and continues to inspire me to this day.
