Today we’d like to introduce you to Wally And Peggy Tucker.
Hi Wally and Peggy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For years this property was our private family retreat – a place where our children and grandchildren would come to visit from North Texas and San Antonio. The grandchildren enjoyed playing by the river and so much time was spent just enjoying the company of family. These six acres were filled with laughter, nature and lots of memories.
As our grandchildren grew older and their interests changed, visits became less frequent. We began to look around at this beautiful, peaceful, spacious home and realized that it had become much larger than the two of us needed. But instead of letting it grow quiet, we decided share it.
So we opened our doors and welcomed guests into a place that offers the same sense of calm, connection and gentle luxury we enjoyed for so many years.
One year later we are happy to see people relaxing by the river, slowing down, enjoying nature and making their own memories.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our first decision to develop our own operational plan, rather than joining a corporate platform, made our journey more complex, but it was well worth the effort.
We anticipated hard work, hundreds of decisions, and multiple learning opportunities. We usually found a bit of time every day to enjoy the natural beauty of the property and views.
Looking back over our first year of business we credit our small and very talented team with reaching our hospitality goals of making each guest feel special and we hope a little spoiled.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We offer a beautiful, peaceful and fun setting where you can walk down to the river and enjoy nature or sit by the pool and relax. This is place where you can enjoy a quiet weekend and a bit of luxury or bring family for a fun filled get away.
What makes you happy?
Many of our guests come here from the city. It makes us happy to see their smiles as they relax and enjoy the peaceful countryside.
