Today we’d like to introduce you to William Vandry.
Hi William, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
William Vandry is an author, researcher, sports nutritionist, filmmaker, businessman, athlete and martial artist.
Vandry is also one of the highest-ranking BJJ Black belts in Texas, and one of the highest ranking American BJJ Black belts in the world (6th degree). Vandry and his wife Chandra formed the Vandry Hope foundation, a non profit to research and lecture nutrition on diseases such as Chronic pain, legal blindness, PTSD, and also they work with poverty stricken in Central Texas.
William is also a Sports nutritionist, and has worked with many on issues with chronic pain, and injuries.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
William had overcome a severe TBI or traumatic brain injury in 1997. He recovered by studying his research on nutrition, repairing the body and mind. William and his wife now work with many people to overcome TBI’s and other medical conditions. Their slogan on their non profit Vandry Hope is “Empowering through knowledge”.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
William has a schedule for many hats. He consults in nutrition for those who have medical issues. He also along with his wife Chandra teaches Jiujisu lessons at his academy in North West Austin area. He has bee in Jiujitsu for over 30 years since he was young man. In addition, William and Chandra are also filmmakers. They produce documentaries, and their first one was released in 2020 titled Got pain?, It is a documentary on people with chronic pain, cancer, diabetes and other medical conditions to watch before and after correct nutrition and detoxification. We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
William, like his wife were both military brats and grew up all over the world. Both also own a 501c3 non profit called the Vandry Hope foundation, which does research on Chronic pain, TBI’s, legal blindness, PTSD and poverty in Central Texas.
