Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Owens.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Maids from Heaven in 2021 during the covid epidemic. I was in school and had a project to start up a low cost business. With the pandemic going on, I decided that a cleaning company was the best idea during these circumstances. I started off with creating a logo and marketing online through Facebook and Instagram. I was booking small jobs on the weekend which led to my first big commercial contract. I hired my first employees and started looking for more commercial contracts. I additionally added two more big commercial contracts and from there I quit my day job and Maids from Heaven became my full time job. Present day, we now focus on commercial contracts and are starting to expand to other major cities like Houston and Dallas.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road was not smooth in the beginning. I knew I wanted to run a business but had no idea what I wanted to do. The cleaning company was a great idea, but in the beginning I had to do a lot of the cleanings myself. People would book jobs and I didn’t have any employees to send out. It was also a struggle asking for help last minute and not having the funds to be able to pay people. Sometimes I would do a job and not make any money because I had to pay the people that were helping me. So pricing out jobs and not being too expensive to where people wouldn’t book was hard.
As you know, we’re big fans of Maids from Heaven. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a professional cleaning company located in Pflugerville, Texas. We specialize in commercial cleaning, but also do post construction and move in/move out cleanings. We strive on having great customer service and showing great care for your business or home space. I’m most proud of the continued growth of the brand and what we stand for. We are a small Christian ran family company and our faith is what keeps us going everyday. We treat our customers like family so anytime you book a cleaning with us be ready for the awesome treatment you get. We try to go above and beyond for your cleaning needs.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was playing little league football with all my friends in Sweetwater and also Austin, Tx as well. My dream was to play quarterback in college and to one day make the NFL.
