Meet ZeroHour

Today we’d like to introduce you to ZeroHour. They and their team shared their story with us below:

ZeroHour’s story begins in the fall of 2021 at St. Edward’s University’s music club, Jam Central, where Santiago Clark (Guitar/Vox), Maury Brown (Bass), and Evan Autin (Drums) would meet each week to play music and hone their craft. After many months of jams at Jam Central and putting on their music festival, Sunflower Fest, the trio began discussing forming a band. In March 2022, ZeroHour was born when the trio started writing songs and creating a new style of music called World Rock that blended elements of Rock, World music, and Psychedelic/Trip Hop. The band’s sound grew with the addition of Spencer Singh (Percussion, Keys), whom Santiago had met at Sunflower Fest’s drum circle. After many months of writing and recording new songs, ZeroHour played their first show at Sahara Lounge in November 2022. Santiago met Yacellys (Bunny) Isabella (Vocals) through a friend in the Austin music scene in search of a lead singer. Bunny instantly connected with the group’s vibe and music at a ZeroHour rehearsal and was added to the band. Today the band approaches the Texas summer heat with a blazing momentum of shows, music releases, and special surprises. Fueled by their love of music, culture, and friendship, the group continues to break barriers, unite people from all walks of life, and share their passion with the world.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
The road has sometimes been so smooth. In the beginning, we struggled with identity. Being young and reckless, we wanted to be free of all chains and labels that we felt locked us creatively. The outcome of that decision was like driving in circles around the same tree and wondering why we hadn’t reached Whataburger yet. Then one day, we took a step back and looked at the music and memories we had made. It was clear that there was something special in those melodies, grooves, and rhythms that made our hair stand up. So from that day on, we decided to stop driving around that same tree, and instead, we created a new path that allowed us our musical freedom. We called that path World Rock.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Currently, Santiago works as a freelance entrepreneur, event organizer, drummer for African & Latin Dance classes, and as a guitarist for UT’s Middle Eastern Ensemble (Bereket). Bunny is an entrepreneur and doctoral student, and runs her specialty cake shop, “Bunny’s Cake Shop” making custom vegan sweets using gluten free & organic ingredients. Evan is a multi instrumentalist who plays in another band called “The Klinks” and continues to study at St. Edward’s University along with Maury and Spencer.

Before we go, can you talk to us about how people can work, collaborate, or support you?
Collaborations with ZeroHour can begin by contact through social media, email, as well as in-person connections at shows. People can support the band by coming to our shows, sharing our social media posts, and listening to and sharing our music.
