Today we’d like to introduce you to AiLysa O’Shea.
Hi AiLysa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my career in the beauty industry almost nine years ago, fresh out of beauty school. I began at a franchise, somewhere I could use my license, and immediately fell in love with lashing. Like a lot of artists, I took clients wherever I could, worked long hours, practiced constantly, and learned through trial and error.
Over time, I built a loyal clientele and eventually took the leap into working for myself. Owning my own studio was both exciting and terrifying, but it taught me how to truly run a business, from branding and marketing to finances, boundaries, and growth. I’ve moved studios, expanded, downsized, rebuilt, attended events, and learned how to adapt without losing sight of why I started in the first place.
Today, I own and operate A-Lyst Lashes & Beauty, where I focus on high-quality lash services and creating a welcoming, cozy space for my clients. I’m currently expanding into education, offering lash trainings and I’ve developed my own curriculum to help newer and skilled artists build sustainable careers.
My journey hasn’t been linear, but it’s been honest. Every challenge has pushed me to grow not only as a business owner, but as a person. I’m proud of what I’ve built from the ground up and excited about what’s next as I continue to evolve, educate, and create a life and business that feel aligned and intentional.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was learning how to transition from being a skilled artist to a business owner. I had to figure out pricing, boundaries, finances, and scheduling largely on my own while managing burnout and self doubt along the way.
Navigating growth was another challenge. I experienced expanding too quickly, having to scale back, and learning what was truly sustainable. Those moments forced me to adapt, make tough decisions, and become more intentional with how I run my business.
Every obstacle shaped the way I operate today and helped me build a business that is stronger, more aligned, and built for long term success.

I’m a lash artist and business owner specializing in high-quality, customized lash services, including creative and colorful lash sets. I’m known for my attention to detail and for creating looks that enhance each client’s natural features while allowing room for individuality.
I prioritize client experience and creating a welcoming, cozy space. I’m committed to continuing education and staying current with industry trends, techniques, and products so my work continues to evolve.
I’m most proud of building a loyal community and a business that has grown primarily through word of mouth. What sets me apart is my balance of creativity and structure, along with my passion for education!
How do you define success?
I define success as building a life and business that feel aligned and sustainable. It’s having the freedom to grow creatively, support myself comfortably, and maintain balance without burning out. Success also means continuing to learn, evolve, and give back by helping others grow along the way. If I’m proud of my work, fulfilled by my days, and creating something that lasts, that’s success to me.
