Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Spencer
Hi Alexandria, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a born and raised Austinite who likes to learn new things and assist others whenever I have the opportunity. I have lived in the Houston area throughout my life and I am familiar with different cultures such as Black and Louisiana Creole/Cajun. My mother’s side of the family is from Louisiana so being exposed to that culture taught me a lot about love. During the pandemic, I got this bright idea to create resumes for people. It was something that I was good at and I was working full time while trying to graduate from College. My assistance with creating resumes, cover letters, and using my educational experience to assist prospective and current students with their career journey made me realize how powerful and positive that I am. I’ve assisted several customers throughout the United States which makes me feel happy because my work is being noticed. I want to continue to expand and help more job seekers and students.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been easy especially dealing with individuals who expect free or discounted services. Also, noticing how people who I have supported during their business journey won’t even share nor repost my resume services advertising. However, I realized that everyone isn’t going to support you despite you being a support to them. I appreciate the individuals who have supported me. It made me not want to give up.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a huge music lover and one of my goals is to start my own media centered show based on that. With all of the podcasters and bloggers in the world, I believe that my ideas and knowledge about music culture sets me apart from everyone else. Being able to discuss different genres of music, identity samples, and showing homage to past musical legends is something that I am passionate about.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The most important thing that I learned from the Covid-19 crisis is to don’t quit. Things are going to occurr in life and throughout the world but please keep going. Use times of isolation to get creative and expand your skills.
