Today we’d like to introduce you to Beatdemons.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Beatdemons is a producer duo made up of Christopher Chris Gomez & Mark Christopher Hardin Jr.
(Chris) We both started off as artists and eventually gravitated to the music producer side. In the beginning, we both were working with many artists locally producing their songs (we didn’t know each other then). Eventually, everyone said we were the best producers in town that we should team up or collab with each other.
(Chris) I was thinking about going to school for audio engineering and decided to reach out to Mark who I seen he had finished school for audio engineering.
(Mark) When he hit me up, I told him not to go to school, that all the stuff I learned was easy. That I could show him what I learned when it comes to mixing beats to get a better quality. We linked up and made eight beats in a couple of hours and were surprised how good they came out. So we decided to team up.
(Chris) Mark had a group idea name called Beatdemons already and we took it and ran with it.
We started uploading beats on sites like Soundclick, Youtube, & Beatstars and slowly started getting beat sales.
Fast forward and it all eventually snowballed into us making music full time comfortably. We became one of the top-selling producers online and got some major placements along the way with artists Bad Bunny, Brytiago, 6ix9ine, Money Man, Tink, Quin Nfn, and more. Some of which went RIAA Platinum.
(Mark) After some time ended up signing a deal with Beatstars & Sony Atv. At the moment, we are working close with some major artists and keeping up with our online store. Aiming to make some more hits and go down in history as some of the best!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
(Chris) No, it hasn’t always been smooth. With popularity and be labeled as one of the “Top Selling Producers online”. It drives others to mimic us or copy our work. We assume in hopes to get more beat sales online.
(Mark) Some of the times, these copycats magically landed major placements with big artists and we’ve had to hire lawyers to assist in getting what is rightfully ours. (which cost money, time, and energy)
(Chris) However, we always came out victorious but downside is it takes away that feel good feeling when you get a record with a big artist. We prefer for it to happen the proper way & when it doesn’t, it’s not something we’re able to fully enjoy.
(Mark) Yeah, this is probably our biggest struggle and thing we hate dealing with the most.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
(Chris) We are music producers / beatmakers. We make the beats/instrumental an artist raps or sings over!
(Mark) What sets us apart is our ability to pretty much make any genre and be consistent with our quality.
(Chris) The thing we’re most proud of is being able to work together and build off each other’s strengths and weaknesses. What I’m not good at Mark is good at and vis versa. So I think this is what has helped us get to where we are at!
Any big plans?
(Mark) In the future, we want to scale our beat selling business even higher. We are also looking forward to seeing some of the music we have been producing get released.
(Chris) We’re planning to also release more music as an “artist”, sorta how Dj Khaled does.
